This one's surprisingly varied and interesting compared to the debut. "Post Traumatic Blues" and "All I Want Is Hate" have shades of Slipknot within them. "Sorry Me" is a quality ballad. There's a lot to like on here if people give it a chance.

I actually wanted to write a review for this album, but couldn't even muster up the energy to write a bunch of words about it. That's how mediocre this mixtap-uh, album is.

Chvrches have a new fan after Screen Violence embraces a darker, more mature approach to their songwriting. Standouts include the relentlessly catchy "He Said, She Said", the soaring and bleak "Violent Delights", and the sweet "Lullabies".

I pre-ordered this on vinyl and although it hasn't even arrived, I don't want it anymore.

Devil Sold His Soul Loss5.0
Incredible album. Band was always on the edge of my radar, but the dual vocals really add another
dimension to the band's music and the group's caught my eye. "Ardour", "Burdened", and "Tateishi"
are simply MASSIVE. Loss can be found at the intersection of shimmering post-rock, catchy
metalcore, and powerful post-metal. Might have to 5 this after repeated listens. Everyone check
this out!

Fightstar Behind the Devil's Back4.5
Album of the year, hands down. Only gripe is that "Titan" should have had a longer outro and "Dive" should
have brought the chorus around one last time instead of bowing out so early.

The Xcerts There Is Only You4.0
Finch Back to Oblivion4.0
Basically, this is Finch taking on 90's alternative rock. It's a surprisingly fresh spin on their sound, but is it what the majority of Finch fans are expecting?
Lower Than Atlantis Lower Than Atlantis2.5
Twin Atlantic Great Divide3.0
Twin Atlantic's Great Divide is a polished, sugary sweet faint attempt by these Scots to land on the airwaves
both at home and across the pond. Tracks like the pretty, piano driven "Ones That I Love", the poignant and
tender "Be A Kid", and the rowdy "Actions That Echo" capture the most attractive parts of the band's charming
brand of alternative rock. However, tracks like "Heart And Soul" and "Brothers And Sisters" come across
sickeningly sweet and feature cliche lyrics that are sure to induce an eye roll or two.

While the record still maintains some of the snappy, creative songwriting found on the band's past releases,
listeners are left in an awkward position listening to a once fresh sounding band subtly caving into the
homogenous trends and songwriting tropes that surround them. It remains to be seen what will happen to
Twin Atlantic as they begin to cross the great divide. Hopefully they won't lose themselves in the process.
