Father John Misty I Love You, Honeybear
Frightened Rabbit Pedestrian Verse
Taking the misery of Midnight Organ Fight with the accessibility of Winter of Mixed Drinks, Frightened Rabbit have found their perfect blend. Every song oozes Hutchinson's sarcastic, self-deprecating, joyless words with some of the band's best work musically.

The Joy Formidable Wolf's Law
Not so much a step forward, as a refinement. The Joy Formidable make no huge leaps to change their sound, but instead they focus what they started on The Big Roar. To a certain extent, the long outros are missed, but the tighter songwriting more than makes up for that.

Maybe not the most original music or the deepest lyrics, but it doesn't strive for that. Fun music that is well-made with infectious choruses and hooks like no other. Makes ya just wanna get up and dance and have a good time!

2.0 poor
Atlas Genius When It Was Now
Biffy Clyro Opposites
Christopher Owens Lysandre
To his benefit, it sounds like a Girls album. To his determent, it sounds like a second-rate Girls album. Well played, but not pushing any boundaries musically. At times trite. This is a rather slight affair than can be enjoyed for a moment, but offers nothing for memory.
Fall Out Boy Take This to Your Grave
Gotye Making Mirrors
Jessie Ware Devotion
Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience - 2 of 2

Outside of a few songs, the album doesn't really engage.

1.5 very poor
Darwin Deez Songs For Imaginative People
The longer the album went on, the less I enjoyed it. Actually got kind of grating towards the end.
Deadmau5 >album title goes here<
The problem with > album title goes here < is one of familiarity. He does nothing new or original outside of a few rare moments. The Veldt is probably the highlight of the album.
Everything Everything Man Alive
Fall Out Boy Folie a Deux
Ghostland Observatory Codename: Rondo
Kaiser Chiefs Yours Truly, Angry Mob
Lady Gaga Born This Way
Mumford and Sons Babel
Babel is a darker Sigh No More. For this album, they push their boundaries by varying the song structure (ever so slightly) and attempting to not create the same song ten times. But even with the darker tone and gravely vocals, it comes off as laughable at times. Not so much progression, even though they tried new things, as a lateral move.
Muse The 2nd Law
Muse experiments with their sound on almost every song. Though most of the time it doesn't reach to the heights they want, The 2nd Law is still better (marginally) than their previous album. There is definitely a couple classic Muse songs off this album to make a very short EP.
Owl City The Midsummer Station
Palma Violets 180
The Darkness Hot Cakes
The Knife Shaking the Habitual

1.0 awful
Bon Jovi What About Now
Jon Bon Jovi is setting himself up to have the most hilarious release of 2013.
Green Day ¡UNO!
If UNO! was your first introduction to Green Day, you'd take away from this album that they can play one song twelve different times. Thanks to the production of Rob Cavallo, long time producer of Green Day, every song has the exact same feel, same sound, same sheen, and never throughout its 42 minute runtime does Green Day change it up either. It makes for a truly awful and tedious listen experience, more so than 21st Century Breakdown.
Mumford and Sons Sigh No More
Mumford and Sons takes one idea (the indie folk thing with banjos) then bashes it into the ground. Once you hear one song, there isn't a surprise left on the album. Soft verses with all out playing, banjo strumming as fast as possible choruses then back to soft can only be sustained for so long before the structure gets completely boring. At their best, Little Lion Man is a decent song, but everything still feels manufactured, soulless.
Muse The Resistance
Muse tries too hard, and instead of creating something interesting, they manage to create a soulless, listless album. They will have to try extremely hard to top the three part Exogenesis Symphony as their worst song.
Owl City All Things Bright And Beautiful
Skrillex Leaving
