Lil B Pink Flame
Lets be honest. What. A. Mixtape. If you don't love this mixtape, listen again, or you're taking it to seriously. Listening to Lil B requires you to clear your mind. Clear your mind of everything you know about rap, NO, everything you know about music itself. Lil B is able to laugh at him self, get angry even though he is a warrior for peace, and have as many flows as he does bitches. In songs like "1000 Bitches" and "Flex 36" he shows his raw, BasedGod powers and goes in. No literally, he goes crazy. In his own way. Songs like "Hood Stories" he explains his own struggles. To some they are big, to some not so much, but they are his struggles and he's not trying to embellish it. We'd like to say he embellishes the amount of women he has sexual intercourse with, but lets be honest, he gets that many women. One of the best things about this tape though is Lil B's samples. The Air Supply sample in the title track "Pink Flame" stunned me, made me laugh, then want to record my own song over it. The old school mix of R. Kelly's R&B classic "Bump 'N' Grind" was sampled in B's song "People Over Money" where B isn't afraid to show his sentimental side. He explains that he really does care about his friends, family, and friends, and that it isn't about the money to him. Lil B has a lot of stories to tell. He's got many different sides of his life. This isn't your ordinary Lil B tape. This is one of his best ever. That, my friend, you better fucking believe.
