| I like this album a lot, it blends brutality and atmosphere like no other, however it's hard to listen to the whole thing in one time. Some songs are too lengthy for the sake their own sake but my biggest problem is with the drums. Jamie Saint Merat is a great drummer but he is just all over the place on this record. The drums hardly follow the other instruments or set the pace; they are changing pace/tempos all the time as if they were soloing constantly and this to the detriment of the atmosphere the band is trying to build. I'm all for variety when it comes to music composition but too much variety is definitely an issue in this case. A well deserved 4 but with the feeling that it could had been higher. |

| Most disheartening fact about this album is how the screaming dude has to over enunciate EVERY SINGLE WORD. The Act is DWP's most "out there" record yet. It's heavy and also accessible and catchy. At times it's even brilliant but at times it's cringe and skippable. Granted that it took me two years to appreciate it fully this is a great record, sonically adventurous and very curated. Ruined by sub-par vocal performances throughout the record. |

| I feel like ABorted went for a more simplistic approach this time around, leaving out their more atmospheric elements. In a typical Aborted fashion the album is fast, aggressive, and ultimately, fun. However it doesn't offer the same exciting mix of bone-shattering songs with more "focused" atmospheric tracks. |

| Not as bad as people say. A decent record that offers several enjoyable moments and some headbanging throughout. Awful electro/dance parts however really ruin the overall quality. Its biggest flaw is being an Asking Alexandria's record. |

| This album's great; some songs are better than others but they over all quality well deserves a 3.0. Score would actually be higher if it wasn't for the production; drums seems to have been recorded with an electronic set and it sounds too dull and it grows you off easily, also it is too high and it covers the guitars and bass a bit. Also too many sweeps and too little solos in my opinion. Fast is fast but sometimes variety instead of speed can give better results. Anyway, great album. Recommended tracks: Objective to harvest, Utopia, Shards of scorched flesh, Fruitless existence. |

this album offers not a single redeeming quality. not one. Cringey patronizing mind-numbing lyrics, flat
production and uninspired beats, half-hearted, off-handed singing this album is straight and complete trash.
After the first song he doesn't even bother singing with purpose. I can't remember a song where he actually
puts his voice to work.
Not to mention the hit single has the worst most annoying hook and chorus i have yet heard in pop music.
rPurpose at least has some good songs and especially some great beats and instrumentals. r |
