Counterparts The Current Will Carry Us
This album is very good. I love the combination of hardcore and melodic metal with a tinge of punk influence. There is also a nice technicality to the album. The band weaves sporadic breakdowns that are short and sweet. The breakdowns themselves are technical mixed with a melodic feel and it just plain works. The vocals are very good aswell. Sometimes with screamers I find myself cringing, but that never happens in this album. His voice is filled with emotion and he can also convey a pretty good range. Will be enjoying this album for a very long time. I think track 10 and 11 should switch. I think the ending to "Sinking" would be perfect ending to the album. Favorite tracks: Sinking, The Constant, The Disconnect, Jumping Ship
Dance Gavin Dance Downtown Battle Mountain II
I know most people like DBM1 the most but this album for some reason has just stuck with me. The guitar parts in the songs are momentous and technical and catchy all at the same time. I find myself headbanging and then singing along to my hearts content when Jonny's parts come on. In my opinion this is the magnum opus to DGD's amazing career. Favorite Tracks: Thug City, Edler Goose, Pounce Bounce
Envy On The Coast Lowcountry
Hit the Lights Skip School, Start Fights
If I had heard this album for the first time today, I would probably wouldn't care for it that much. Alas, this album came to me at a time when I didn't listen to that much music, and it hit all the right notes for me. Too much fun. Its true, there is nothing original, or "great" on this album, but I know the lyrics to every song on here and spin it regularly. Will cherish my copy of this CD until I'm an old geezer bopping with my fists and yelling with no teeth "Rest is for the dead" !!!
letlive. Fake History
CLASSIC ALBUM ! Best album I've heard in a long time. Namely the re-issue because of "Lemon Party", the only song without screaming on the record, but it is the most grooviest catchy rock song I've ever heard. The rest of the album is amazing. This band somehow rules the post-hardcore genre and every song is very unique. Can't wait for their next release.

The Story So Far Under Soil and Dirt
I'm rating this a 5 because, to me this is a classic. This may not be the most innovative
music of all time but there is something about this album that never fails to captivate.
There is not a song that hasn't earned its spot on the record. At any time on any day I am
ready to throw this CD on and be lifted out of reality by the catchy hooks and the
surprisingly impressive musicianship. I've seen live acoustic videos, and I wasn't impressed
by the vocals; but that really doesn't even matter. These songs don;t need amazing vocals.
Get a crowd of people who know the lyrics and you've got yourself a show people cannot help
but to sing along to. Thats not to say the vocals are bad, infact, on the album, his
aggressive tone perfectly correlates with the melodic guitar riffs, and infectious drum
beats. In a genre with so many forgettable records, this one stands out like the north star.
I cannot wait for their next release, but I am cautious because this is one album that is
going to be hard to top. Best Tracks:THE WHOLE THING!
Valencia This Could Be A Possibility
Oh the praise I could shower onto this record: amazing, original, underrated. Seriously Valencia is one of my favorite bands and it upsets me dearly that they are broken up. This is their first record. A mix of pop-punk and pop-rock filled with sing-along chorus's, catchy as shit guitar riffs, and actually unique song structures(for the genre). Their newer albums went for a more refined and simplified pop rock style, and one could say a more mature sound, but I can't help but love their sound on this album. This album contains some of my favorite songs ever. Best Tracks: "The Closest I Am To Living Life On The Edge" "The Space Between" "Will We Ever Know How?" "Away We Go"
Valencia We All Need A Reason To Believe
Such a solid poprock record. I've got my copy, and will cherish it for the rest of my life. Thank you Valencia for making my life a better place Seriously though, every song on this cd is a standout. I love the tone of Shanes voice. Album has some of my favorite tracks ever: "Better Be Prepared" "Carry On" "Safe To Say" "I Can't See Myself"

Counterparts Prophets
Listened to their newer album first, which I liked better, slightly. Mainly the difference is I prefer the more thrashy hardcore compared the breakdown metalcore(which I do like). And this is top-notch stuff here; the breakdowns are more prevalent than "The Current Will Carry Us" but they are still well timed, and executed with melodic and interesting parts so they all feel different. I love this band !

I love this album. I'm a Jonny Craig fanboy, and this album does not disappoint. I enjoy this one more than Relativity even though I do respect that album alot, and "The Past Should Stay Dead" is one amazing song, but there was too much filler on that release. On this album there is only song I don't enjoy:"Share The Sunshine Young Blood". Just not a good song. The rest of the album is amazing. Standouts : "Truth Hurts While Laying on Your Back", "The Weight of Love Blind Eyes", "A Toast To The Future Kids"

Oh man the memories. This album got me into the world of pop-punk. The album boasts two vocalists , some simple but effective instrumentation, and a handful of really good songs. "Bleed For You" contains the pivotal hook and chorus for the album. You can't help but sing to the end of "Twenty Below". "Garden Statement" contains a very effective and different vocal structure at the end. "In Memory" has a breakdown that is so simple but you can't help but bop your head to. "Ashes Ashes" and "A Minor Detail" are extremely solid songs. This album was a favorite for me back in the day, and it's always enjoyable to go back to.

I the Mighty Satori
honestly such a great album. I had high expectations going in and they were all met. There is a perfect balance between catchyness and technicality. Each track has interesting riffs, along with emotional vocals. Love the addition of the harsh vocals; it fits perfectly with what this band has been attempting to create. Honestly love this album. May 5 it later after more listens. I can't name the best songs because every single track is great. Wow. Possible AOTY.

Intervals A Voice Within
This album slays ! The guitar riffage is toned down a bit to make room for vocals, but each member gets to shine in places. The new vocalist sounds great, and the band tries new post-rock elements in some of the longer tracks. Unfortunately the second half of "The Self Surrendered" is overly long and repetitive and doesn't really work. Thats the only part of this album I don't love. Amazing album !

If you want an album that will rock your socks off with intense instrumentation, mind blowing riffs, and then catchy as balls sing-a-long choruses, then look no further. This album just totally destroys. Night Verses walks the line perfectly between catchyness and experimentation. Every song on here will hook you in as well as impress you by the instrumental prowess of these amazing musicians. AOTY I think.

A satisfying follow up to USAD. They had big shoes to fill with this record, and they succeeded. While I have to say that I do enjoy USAD a little bit more, this album is a great listen. "The Glass" is the best song they have written, and "Empty Space" is just too catchy. Vocals are generally the same but I'm okay with that. Instrumentation is sublime, and production is crisp. Great album.
The Venetia Fair Every Sick, Disgusting Thought...
Exceedingly original. Vocalist sounds a little weird, but he delivers his melodies with such passion, its hard to ignore. The whole album is just superb. Catchy chorus's mixed with a variety of instruments, makes you feel like you were just at the circus or on a safari. This band deserves the spotlight, truly stellar album.
Transit Listen & Forgive (Reissue)
There is two songs on this album that don't do it for me. "Don't Make A Sound" and "1978". The rest is gold. While the vocalist took a bit to get used to, now I really enjoy his tone. The instrumentation on this record is the real high point though. For pop rock, it is just absolutely fantastic. Eagerly await another release from these guys.
Underoath Define The Great Line
This album will always be a classic. There are a few songs I don't really like, but the rest of the album is superb. I like some of their newer stuff but this is the best album by far.

These guys are clearly talented. The music never ceases to be interesting. Vanity Fair is an amazing song. I don't enjoy the long instrumental sections, but it didn't hinder my enjoyment of the album that much. Interested to hear more from this band. I love DGD. I love these songs. I'm even getting used to Tillian and his crazy high voice and enjoying it. But god, the production on this album is RUINING it for me. Everything is soooo muddled. Isn't this the guy who produced DBM2? The production on that album was flawless. WTF happened? Tillians voice overpowers everything else except for the drums. Will Swan is an amazing guitarist. I want to hear his leads ! All I hear is a wall of noise behind the vocals in lots of places. In others, I can sort of hear the guitars. Isn't this bothering anyone else ?

The song "We Are Sick" is what made check the album out. Let's just say based on that one song i was COMPLETELY surprised on the rest of the album. It was a good surprise though. The band weaves through a parade of intriguing melodic guitar work while incorporating pleasant and moving vocals. Most songs have a unique structure, and there are lots of twists and turns in the album. "We Are Sick" is definitely the most accessible song but the whole album is written so well. Great album. Great album. A worthy successor to Fake History, although not as good. A huge weight that brings this album down is the production. While the production on Fake History was raw and a little muddled it worked perfectly for their sound and made the songs seem dirty. This album the production is muddy as opposed to dirty. It feels overproduced. Especially the drums. Listen to the drums on "The Fear Fever" during the verse. They sound so fake. Also I feel like the bass is too prevalent. Anyways this album is still a rocker and I am excited to hear some of these songs live !

Never heard this band before this. At first I was skeptical about the vocal style. What
really made me listen to this again was the instrumentals. The guitars are awesome. Catchy
fluid riffs. The music combines an honest technicality with those generic fast punk beats.
It works. And then I realized that this unique vocal style fits perfect with the unique
sound of the instruments. Its true that most of the songs resemble eachother but I found
that each songs has its own distinct feel created by the riffs that the guitarist rip out.
This band has a very original style, and although the vocals may not appeal to everyone,
hopefully people will look past them and see these musicians for what they are: talented.

The vocals ramp this rating up from a 2.5-3 all the way to a 4. They are just TOO good. Harsh and clean vocals. Sublime. They make me forgive all the lame breakdowns, and really, except for the first song, they don't over do it. But if these guys took the time to really try and take those out this album would just be amazing. Catchy hooks. Some cool guitar parts, and good production.

A mixed bag of soft and heavier pop-rock songs makes this a pretty cohesive record. Some hit, some miss. Some songs are a little too repetitive with their chorus. Generic metalcore done well. Although the clean vocalist goes a little too high a few times he is definitely talented. Harsh vocalist is also solid, providing a good tone and a pretty varied range. A tad too many generic breakdowns, but there is still enough other things going on in the music to keep you interested. Solid release.
Parabelle Your Starry Eyes Will Never Make Us Even
The vocalist reminds me of 30 seconds to mars, which isn't a bad thing. He is the high point of this album. Great range and great tone. Never listened to this band before this. This band is a little out of my style but I'm trying to broaden my musical interests. You can clearly tell that this band is talented. Vocalist switches between a raspy and smooth sound on a whim. Songs are all varied. Guitar riffs in "Frayed in Doubt" and "Call of the Bells" are very good, and then they bust out of the box with the verses of "Guilt & Swell". "In Currents" and "Tell Me Why" both boast a catchy impossible to not sing-along melody. Some forgettable songs, but still a worthy album.

The rest of the album, while being pretty solid, just seems okay. There are no really stand-out tracks to me(except self starter). The guitar-work is nothing ground breaking, the melodies are lacking hooks. None of the slower songs seem to capture like "Unwinding Cable Car" or "Fin" did. I will listen to a few songs from the album in the near future but I can't see them lasting any longer than that. Easily forgettable. Don't get the hype.

As a person who hasn't been a blink-182 enthusiast, but has enjoyed a few songs here and there, i found this to be quite pleasant. The first release I ever downloaded from them. Most of the songs are good, but in general my stance on this band has not changed. I don't understand their immense popularity. Just don't get the hype.

Have Mercy (Indie) A Place of Our Own
Heart in Hand Almost There
Some pretty good songs. Hardcore with a dash of metalcore. The pacing of the album is really good, they have a few interlude tracks but they feel right and give the listener a break from the heavyness. Vocalist is pretty good. "Broken Lights" is the best song instrumentally but they have a guest vocalist who totally ruins it. Overall, enjoyable album.

I heard a couple songs from them in the past, decided to give this one a listen. Nothing special but I'd say pretty solid. Vocals are good on both fronts, and its seems to be pretty impressive that they are done by the same guy. Orchestral elements give a bit of originality and that piano interlude "Enigmatic" is long but catchy as hell.Instrumentation is pretty good actually, especially the symphonic parts. Some standout tracks, some not-so-standout. Nothing groundbreaking here but I'd say an enjoyable listen.
Into It. Over It. Proper
A solid release. There is an underlying complexity to the instrumentation that is quite appealing to me. The vocalist is pretty good. I didn't get overly excited from this but it was still an enjoyable listen.

First Circa album I've tried. Couldn't get into it. They do have some interesting guitars, and Anthony Green's voice is a refreshing change but most of the album was just plain boring. Seven minute songs without any kick or any memorable moments. I liked "sharp practise" and "the lottery" but to me the rest of the album was fodder. Got to give them some respect for creating music that is unique though. Just not my bag I guess.

Departures Teenage Haze
This one was hard for me to rate. While this style is new to me and I like it, this album has its issues. Listen to any song on its own and you will probably enjoy it but try to listen to this album in one shot and it becomes stale quick. For a hardcore album the instruments are decidedly not very heavy, but the gut wrenching vocals make up for it in that department. The music itself is pretty catchy but for the most part it just consists of strumming power chords and simple drum beats accompanied by some melodic guitar riffing. That being said, there are some pretty interesting arrangements to be found on the record, especially the endings to some of the songs(21 and Those Miles Meant Everything ). Vocalist is the main downfall in my opinion. Although he doesn't sound particularly bad, he never sounds different in any of the songs. In fact none of the vocal lines are discernibly different than any of the other ones on the album. He has no range and nothing stands out. 21 is by far the most varied and best track on the album.
Fireworks Oh, Common Life

The first 3 songs are really good. It goes downhill from there. A couple other solid tracks but painfully average. Better than their last album though thats for sure.

Hawk Nelson Made
Haven't listened to this band in like 5 years. And wow what a surprise another band changing their sound to go for the Top 40 sound. Oh well. There are some decent songs that are worth listening more than once but the album is blatantly forgettable. "Fighting For" is actually a legit good song though.
Her Bright Skies Rivals
Some decent songs on here, but still pretty mediocre. Prefer the more heavier tracks.
I Am King Solidarity
I See Stars Digital Renegade
moved up from a 2 just because of electric forest. The are a couple other songs that are somewhat enjoyable, but electric forest is actually a really good song.
Issues Black Diamonds
I feel like this could have been really good. The standout track on this EP is "The Worst Of Them". The first 3 tracks(not the intro) are good tracks. The last 2 not so much. Overall though i like this blend of metalcore/r&b with dubstep sounds in it. I think it could work well, but for their full length they need to step it up a bit. It may not be awe struck amazing, but it is different in an extremely stale genre. Optimistic for more. No more scream rap though and more lead guitars please. Way better than the turd that was Woe Is Me's album.

Major League Hard Feelings
Ahh your friendly neighborhood pop punk. Mediocre music. Oddly enough the second half of the record is much better than the first half. Some worthy songs, more not so much. Vocalist isn't bad but not very great either. Instruments are nothing ground-breaking; run of the mill pop punk. Nonetheless, while songs are hit and miss, this was still a fun album. Best tracks: Landslide, Homewrecker, Final Thoughts
Major League There’s Nothing Wrong With Me

so many cool riffs on here. So many boring breakdowns hinder the album.
Memphis May Fire The Hollow
Mixtapes Ordinary Silence
Old school dual vocal punk rock. The two vocalists mix well, and I've always liked male and
female combo bands. Undoubtedly, this is a fun album, but there is not much longevity. One
thing that can be said about the album is that the band shy's away from the typical verse
chorus structure. Most of the songs don't have a perfectly defined chorus and this makes
this release different than most other pop-punk album released this year. Unfortunately it
leads to alot of the songs bleeding together. Some good songs on here, but still average.

Paramore Paramore
Periphery Juggernaut: Alpha
Rain City Drive Through Art We Are All Equals
As usual, the majority of Jonny's melodies are a miss. But the real deal breaker is the
lack of any interesting instrumentation, which leaves the album resting solely on Craigs
talented vocals. It isn't enough. As a huge fan of DBM2 and Emarosa self-titled I am sorely
underwhelmed and disappointed.

A few interesting heavy parts, combined with a parade of boring-as-fuck open note breakdowns, combined with catchy and solid clean vocal melodies, combined with ear scratching terrible screams = this band has potential if they get a more capable harsh vocalist and push the boundaries of their generic metalcore sound. By all means, much better than their debut.

Balance and Composure Separation
Oh god, it took me a couple weeks to listen to this album in one straight shot. The second half is just SOO boring. This easily is the worst release by BLG. In an attempt to be more radio friendly by gaining a somewhat country-style , BLG gave up everything that fans liked about them. The pop-punk influence from self-titled gone. The pop-rock influence from love drunk is still remnant, although the band has taken a nose dive in quality. Most of the tracks are slow and the poppier ones are so cheesy it hurts (Red Cup) more than any cheesy poppy tune from their self-titled. Alas, there are a few redeemable hooks to be found throughout the album(Shoot, Cheated). I will always enjoy the vocalists tone though.

So many times throughout listening to this I was like WTF were they thinking? lol. This isn't a band anymore. I feel bad for the guitarists and drummer. They must be so bored while playing this shit live. It tends to be catchy and Patrick is a great singer, but this album is just BAD on so many levels. ughh. I hear that clean singers voice and some of these catchy hooks, and then i hear the endless parade of generic chug a long breakdowns and I want to die! It's a waste. So many bands keep throwing this recycled material at us. At least make the breakdowns interesting like wow. A couple tolerable songs(the ones with the least chug chug).Bad album.
Sleeping With Sirens Feel
A big fan of their previous work. They throw away all the things that were good about them. They actually had semi mature music before, and their acoustic EP was especially good. Catchy lead guitars: gone. Interesting drumming: gone. Good production: gone. The only thing left Kelling vocals and some extremely boring music. Ya Kellin has a really good voice, but there is nothing on here that makes me wanna sing like on LCTT. Better luck next time guys. Funny thing is, this album will sell so well.

The only thing redeemable about this album is Hance, who is a good vocalist. Doriano should retire.... NOW. Sounds like a cat hissing. BAD ALBUM.
