NYE A.M Transmissions
Nye is a California based producer and this is what I believe to be his second digitally released album. This album is a very chill and relaxing affair. The style incorporated here are alternative/experimental hip-hop and different styles of electronic music whether it’d be ambient or dub-step. I even think I heard some jazz influence coming in on tracks ”Fancy Venison” and ”Ladera”. The thing I like about these tracks that genuinely don’t get a whole a lot of from other artist on sites like soundcloud or band camp are the tracks sound very high quality. I can tell the time and effort was put into these beats. Most of the instrumentals here are very layered and developed well, like the second track ”Fuzz and Static” which a favorite of mine on this nine track album it’s one of the more busier upbeat tracks among the mellow vibe of the album. There’s also R&B influences coming in on the track ”Quays” ft Patricia Edwards. The track is a soothing r&b number with Patrica laying down very good vocals.
Nye shows himself to be a very well rounded and talented producer on ”A.M Transmissions”. The whole project is very good and very consistent throughout and he mixes it up enough to where you don’t get bored with on sound or style. Definitely a impressive group of tracks. I’ll definitely be looking out for his next project!
