After my 2nd time through, it was jammin. Now, it might be one of my favorite albums of all time. Pinback Information RetrievedI can't get enough of this album. I am a computer programmer and as such I pretty much listen to music 8-10 hours a day. I judge an album by how well I can jam and cause me to think creatively. I don't listen to songs, I listen to albums. If any song in the album doesn't jive with the rest it throws me off my groove and I toss off the album. So, the album needs to be almost a story. There are few albums from this year that can make the cut IMO. Some that come to mind are DIIV's newest LP and Airiel's latest EP as well as Wild Nothing's newest LP. This is just one of those albums that you can jam to forever. It is what I have come to expect to Pinback. No, they didn't push any envelopes on this album but I wouldn't want them to. I wanted more Pinback and that is exactly what I got. 4.0 excellentPassion Pit GossamerNot quite as good as Manners in my opinion. A fantastic album none the less. You can tell he is over whatever girl he was singing about in Manners and Chunk of Change. Cry Like a Ghost is probably the best song on the album. It kind of explains all of Manners. I wish that would have been the lead single. A good progression from the past. Some of the more hardline Passion Pit fans might be disappointed in this album. I was a little scared as I am not a fan of Take a Walk. The rest of the album made up for it. 2.5 averageBand of Horses Mirage RockThis just doesn't sound like Band of Horses. Huge disappointment. It almost sounds Foo Fighteresque with guitar rifts that don't match the song and a voice that doesn't match any of it. It all sounds forced. Slow Cruel Hands of Time and Shut in Tourist are the only songs that sounded like Band of Horses. If you like new Foo Fighters, Green Day, Jimmy Eat World.. and etc.. you will enjoy this album. It just didn't strike a chord with me like Infinite Arms and Cease to Begin.
