Their best album yet. It's like Agony but it strikes a better balance between symphony and metal. The production is also much better; the drums and symphony aren't as overpowering, and the guitars are a lot louder and more technical like in Oracles. The album is still heavy as fuck but Epilogue and Under Black Sails showcase some cool experimentation. I also appreciate the fact that there's much less clean vocals on this album. They use an opera singer in a few tracks (probably just under half) and though it's a little offputting at first, actually you get used to it and particularly at the end of Towards the Sun, it works really well. I am very happy with this album, well worth the wait.

Behemoth had babies with The Black Dahlia Murder. A fucking ferocious blend of blackened death metal and deathcore. Heavy and technical as fuck. Unbelievably solid for a debut album from a band that's been around for so little time. Proves that you can't judge a band just because they're labelled as 'deathcore'.

It's just jam-packed full of awesome tracks. You might not love like every single one of them, but you are
guaranteed to enjoy at least a handful! Stylistically it feels a lot more mature than their previous albums. It
feels more 'up to date' so to speak, and you can definitely hear the influences from genres like sludge metal,
thrash metal, hardcore punk, funk, and even some death metal influences. Some really well-written tracks
here, and I'm really glad that they managed to 1-up their previous album which is generally considered one of
the best Japanese rock/metal albums. Personal favourites are tracks 1, 3, 6, 9, and 13.

I actually feel that this album somewhat went over some people's heads. The vocals are raw as hell and that's going to be divisive, but the instrumentation is actually much more akin to the blackened death metal sound of bands like Behemoth and Hate than to deathcore bands. This is actually a fairly interesting release, even if there's far too many breakdowns and a few weak tracks here and there.

I feel like all this noise and chaos in their recent releases is sort of the opposite of what I love about their music... The best part of 'Fly By Night' isn't the bit at the beginning, it's when the song starts exploding with melody. The best part of the album in general isn't the overwhelming static noise on Trilogy 6, it's 'Uniform' which is one of my all-time favourite songs. Loma are *unbelievably* good at doing a sort of melodic variety of screamo, and tbh if you look at most of the comments below me it seems a lot of people agree with me that Dark Mountain was their best work. I CAN DO noise and chaos, I fucking love Plague Widow, y'know? But it feels like they're kind of missing the point of why people love Loma... anyway, maybe that's just me.
