The samples used fit well with both the individual tracks and the album as a whole, and the mixture of punk and ska is perfected on this album. No Gods / No Managers is a definite must-have for any fan of the punk scene, and remains as one of my all-time favourites.Rancid ...And Out Come the WolvesMy all-time favourite album, for obvious reasons. It's the only album I've ever listened to that completely flawless, from start to finish. There isn't a single bad song on this album, and it's what got me into punk. Tim and Lars' dual vocals really help to bring out their punk-y spirit, while maintaining a certain degree of pop-like catchiness. Absolutely fantastic album.4.5 superbAnti-Flag The Terror StateA brilliant album, nothing less than what I'd expect from Anti-Flag. My favourite release, and for good reason; they blend hard-hitting punk beats with catchy hooks, with their socially aware lyrics bringing it all together. There isn't a bad song on the album, and it's easy to listen to from start to finish.Anti-Flag Underground NetworkGreat album. Definitely one of their best, if not the best. It's perfect from start to finish, and their signature style of punk mixed with pop-like hooks really starts to develop here. This album will always have a place in my heart. No Cash Run Your PocketsBrilliant album. Surprisingly well-written and the instruments themselves surprised me; I was expecting another group of mediocre musicians who wanted to raise their middle fingers to the world. The instrumental track is a very good opener, in my opinion, kind of setting the scene for the rest of the album. A must-have for any fan of crack rock steady.Star Fucking Hipsters Until We're DeadMy favourite SFH album by a long shot. Pretty flawless album, in my opinion. The only song that doesn't really blow me away is "The Path Is Paved," but the rest of the album is class.4.0 excellentAnti-Flag A Benefit for Victims of Violent CrimeWhile the background story of this album is equal parts saddening and inspiring, the EP itself is excellent. Aside from the two "fill" tracks, it's very well done. The new tracks are catchy as ever, and it's always nice to hear live versions of a few old favourites.Pennywise All or NothingOne of their best albums to date, and I'm glad that their sound hasn't changed dramatically with the addition of Zoli. However, I do feel that his vocals weren't entirely up to scratch - they were a lot more impressive on the album "Our Darkest Days" by Ignite, and they seemed a little plain on this album, especially in comparison. But, Ignite is a different band completely, and this is Pennywise, and this is the Pennywise sound. Great album!Star Fucking Hipsters Never Rest In PeaceVery good album. With one of two exceptions, all the songs are a brilliant mixture of catchy and thought-provoking. Another brilliant release by the Hipsters.Star Fucking Hipsters From The Dumpster To The GraveMy second favourite SFH album to date (nothing can top "Until We're Dead.") I love the ever-present mix of influences this album drew upon, with mixes of ska and punk the most obvious, with a little crust, hip-hop and Spanish music. Excellent album!3.5 greatAnti-Flag For Blood and EmpireThe lyrics on this album are pretty disappointing. While still staying true to their political roots, they just seem poorly written here. Nonetheless, it's a great album, and the instrumentation - especially Chris #2's bass work - makes up for the lack of lyrical talent which is evident. Once again, punk and pop are merged to create that sound which Anti-Flag calls their own, and I'm happy for that.3.0 goodAnti-Flag The General StrikeGood album (it is Anti-Flag, after all) but I felt there was a lot left to be desired. While it's a certain improvement on their last release, "The People Or The Gun," this album feels like more of a filler than anything else. A method of transitioning from one style to another. Pretty poor, and if this were by any other band I'd rate a lot lower.2.5 averageAnti-Flag Die For the GovernmentWhile this is a good album, and Anti-Flag's "punkiest" by far, it leaves a lot to be desired. It's not the instrumentation, it's not the singing, it's not the lyrics; there's just something missing. This album seems as if Anti-Flag haven't found their spirit yet. There are several brilliant tracks on here ("Red White And Brainwashed," for example) but there are several bad tracks which seem to counteract this. The album also seemed to run too long; while it's not the longest I've heard by far, it gets very dull very quickly.2.0 poorAnti-Flag The Bright Lights of AmericaVery bad album. Yes, Anti-Flag are known for their political rants in songs - it's their *thing* - but the lyrical content of this album is straight-up dull. Everything they've said here has already been said before, be it by themselves or numerous other bands. Musically, the only songs that only stood out to me were "Go West" and "Smartest Bomb." Aside from that, a very poor album, and no matter how many times I listen to it, it never improves.1.5 very poorAnti-Flag The People or the GunVery poor album. Lyrically, it's all there, and the band obviously put their heart and soul into the album. I just can't find myself liking it. I've listened to it over and over again, probably more times than I have my favourite A-F album, but it just doesn't work for me. Very poor.
