Horses: Society's first taste of Papa Chilli. Only several weeks after graduation from drama school, childhood friends, Benjamin "Too Cute" Fachoott' and "Pretty" Billi Petite, bucked up to get down some songs for the debut Papa Chilli release. This album, I admit, is no 'The Prayer' but, the hours of tears, sweat and love making, shared between members has paid off to create one of Papa Chilli's finest.
After having to battle a lawsuit over the ownership of the bands name, Papa Chilli, toured Europe and South America on the first leg of their "Riding the Rainbow '99" tour and the "Sealing the Hole '00" tour.
The release of 'Horses' (much like other Papa Chilli albums) has not been without controversy. The album was banned in 7 American states due to issues with the song 'Cock and Awe'. The song, which went for just over 4 minutes, featured no music, only the natural and haunting sounds of Benjamin Fuchoott' and Billi Petite, making love. It featured high sensitivity sounds of neck kissing, lip biting, and oral sex as well as sexual intercourse, between members.
Horses is not the best of Papa Chilli, but it is definately not the worst. A solid effort from the Perth boys, and from behalf of all Australia. Fair Dinkum!
