| Its amazing to see Erra still write great music with loss of so many members. Maybe not as great as Augment or Impulse, but you can tell its still Erra. It still has that same melodic, "Erra" feel (Luminesce, Irreversible, Continuum). Its still very Melodic, most of the songs are. As far as how heavy they are, they seemed to step back on the heaviness and "djentyness" of the songs. Guitar work is phenomenal, as always. Jesse's vocals are amazing as well, I think maybe better than on Augment. Jesse also leads vocals more this time around. As far as my thoughts on JT, I feel he is a good fit to Erra. But I would like to hear some vocal range from him though, as some verses sound a little one-dimensional (my biggest complaint). But I've seen Erra with JT live, and he WREKCS IT LIVE. He's a better vocalist than Ian for sure. Better frontman, executes with easy, and delivers his lines more powerful.rMy favorite songs from this album are Irreversible, Orchid (those guitar riffs are godly), and Continuum (I think this is the most unique song on this album).rAll in all, if you like Erra at all, you should pick this up. Amazing album. Erra pulled through with all the member changes. |
