Didn't like their first album that much, to be honest. Had some cool moments but didn't really grab me. This album, on the other hand, is completely insane. One of the things I dislike about tech death is the fact that I can get easily bored with it, but this album is engaging from start to finish. This is easily the best metal album I've heard in years.

First impressions: not as good as impulse. Things seem much more varied on this album and their sound is pretty stellar. It took me awhile to get used to the cleans on impulse and its probably going to take longer here. It feels like theyre trying to do too much with the cleans and theyre kinda all over the place here. Still amazing atmosphere and musicianship and their main vocalist is pretty good. Although it seems like hes toned it down a bit.

Umm... Wtf? I thought this album was going to blow after that review. Seriously, listen to the album for yourself. Yeah not a lot of screams... So what? Its not like the guys singing like bieber. They have plenty of edge and their songs sound more like...songs on this album. Loved level 2 but change isnt always a bad thing.

Great musicianship. The guitarwork is pretty dope. Album is littered with great solos and the songs get pretty frenetic. It's hard not to bang your head to some of these tunes. rAll that being said, I don't think this album has a lot of staying power. While a lot of the songs are good, I can really only think of one song I'd pick out and play by itself again. That song being 1.618, which is very catchy and memorable in contrast to the rest of the album. rGood, not great, album.

There's potential here, but there's also pretty obvious flaws. They do a lot of fun stuff with the subtle little electronics here and there and the engrossing guitar wankery but there are far too many instances of them falling into those typical deathcore pitfalls. Take out the boring ass breakdowns and you'd have a pretty good album.rIt should also be noted that this is not a full length. So if it was made to showcase their potential, I'd give it high marks cause there are parts that are legitimately interesting. The last 4 tracks are solid. The first 3 are pretty much standard deathcore schtick.r2 bucks for this album is a pretty decent deal (you can buy it off their bandcamp) so I'd say it's definitely worth a listen.

Pretty solid musicianship, very passionate vocals and a unique sound. I should love this album, I really want to. But I just don't. Their clean vocalist doesn't fit in with the aggressive, dark atmosphere and some of the songs are forgettable. Also, the lyrics, while certainly passionate, are pretty f'ing terrible.

Obviously they're not going to sound exactly the same as they used to, it's been 9 years since their last album. But a complete shed of their industrial sound, lousy overdone vocals and not a single memorable hook or chorus makes this just plain terrible.
