I'm getting old.Karnivool Sound AwakeI have listened to this album to death, and then some. I enjoyed this album more than most of dream theater's stuff, and some of genesis's earlier albums. IMO, A perfectly balanced album that flows from beginning to end. I can't believe nex77 gave it a 2/5.4.5 superb360 Falling & FlyingBliss N Eso Running On AirCounting Crows Recovering The SatellitesJimmy Eat World ClaritySteve Lukather All's Well That Ends WellI almost rated this a 5 because I really like the way everything comes together and the lyrics are *heaps* better than his earlier solo stuff. However, after many, many repeated listens, I feel there just isn't enough guitar solos to warrant a 5. Steve has proven throughout his career that *he* is in fact the 'best of the best', no matter how much he won't admit it - I just wished this album contained more of the notes that makes his playing SO good. Oh and Tumescent is definitely bad ass.4.0 excellentFace to Face Don't Turn AwayFace to Face Face to FaceRise Against Siren Song of the Counter Culture3.5 greatSabrepulse First CrushI enjoyed listening to this. I have only heard snippets of his earlier stuff, which to me seemed a little thin, and lacked depth in the overall sound experience. I am all for the chiptune, but putting it into a larger narrative is better. Sabrepulse has done a great job incorporating some other subgenres of electronic music into this album, and the production quality is fantasitc. This is a massive step forward, and the songs flow together nicely. The only criticism i have of the album is that there is at times a thick amount of dubstep mixed into songs.. which is fine - but after repeated listens, can get a bit boring for my ears. If you are looking to buy this album and are thinking 'dubstep wtf is this s**t doing on here?!?!' please trust me that the goodness included in the other songs more than make up for it. Plus it's basically free if you grab it on bandstand.2.0 poorFoo Fighters Wasting LightI bought this album on CD for $20 in Australia. I really wanted to like it, I really did - it just evokes no emotion from me apart from boredom. I don't like the sounds of the guitars. I don't like the lyrics. I just can't rock out to it at all. Which is a shame because i like a few of their earlier tunes.
