Wow, Kaputt is an amazing album but I felt that it at times lacked in sonic variety- This album surpasses Kaputt by expanding on the sound of that album, but mixing new influences drawing from showtunes and classical music. The moments on this album where Bejar lets everything loose, like in 'Dream Lover', and 'Midnight Meet the Rain', are some of the best moments in his career. Other softer songs like 'Time Square, Poison Season I', and 'Girl in a Sling' are beautiful and bring a sense of compositional complexity I didn't know Bejar had in him.

Didn't really click for me until it did.rAmazing album wow, I think I prefer this to You're Dead now just because of how amazingly it flows. It feels so cohesive and realized. You're Dead has some amazing tracks and instrumentation but feels very fractured at times. Some of the tracks at the end weren't even meant for the project and were just tacked on (Descent into Madness was a Thundercat song that FlyLo used for the album, and Boys Who Died was a song meant for the next Captain Murphy album)

The beats are all smooth as you would expect from Brainfeeder, and the raps are witty and lyrically impressive. The references to Nintendo, Yugioh, etc. are all hilarious although the lyrical content is the usual 'drugs and hoes' content. Due to how consistently entertaining this mixtape is, this can be forgiven. 8/10

Ok made it through this whole album. Definitely not his best work but has some good moments. The problem is the tone of the album is completely inconsistent and some of the songs end or change super abruptly. Also the mixing/mastering of this is some of the worst I've ever heard on an album, everything is distorted to the max and it sounds awful.rAlso the '8 new songs' he announced on thed tracklist are literally just parts of the original songs that are split up into different tracks, nothing was added except for Waves.
