The album OBLIVION opens with a tribalish intro "popol voh". Two minutes into the second track "the arrival of the false gods" and "speed" and "intensity" is what comes to one's mind. A catchy, gripping riff with hints of technicality and a flurry of impossible-seeming blastbeats and describe the song or well rather the entire album. I happened to have accidentally stumbled on this album and oh boy, am i glad i did. This album is pure energy and intensity from start to end consisting of crunchy, breakneck speed, totally memorable riffs. There are no weak tracks in this album....some parts may sound a bit weak because of the strength of the stronger ones...if u get what i mean. And yeah, its of course instantly clear once you start listening, that these guys get their influence from bands like Behemoth,Emperor etc. Some people might complain that they sound a bit too much like behemoth, but actually though having heavy influences from the latter, they succeed in maintaining their originality.
And a special mention about the drummer because he makes u feel like a ***ing fleet of buses rammed right into u.SO, to sum it up, if u are a fan of extreme metal, death or melodic or grind do not pass up on this album. Its ***ing brutal yet groovy!!
Standout tracks : almost all!!!! but my favs include invictus, arrival of the false gods, sons of hun vucub and unredemption. |
