This is such a weird album. Tracks like "Killer's lullaby" and "Take the long way home" are beyond excellent. But in between the gems, there's a garbage fire going on. It's still a highly entertaining garbage fire, but you wanna grab them and scream into their faces: "Listen to that shit. You can't be serious right now." Wasted talent. But the peaks still hold up.

A very weird album. There are some good ideas, but the production is abysmal. Lots of crappy distortion, no punch, bad vocal effects. I dislike how bland the hooks are. The songwriting in general feels very static. The album seems to be a weird compromise between artistic expression and pop appeal - and that's why it doesn't work.

I'm working as a music reviewer and I've got a physical copy, too. The drums sound horrible, they are overcompressed and badly equalized. Basically, they remind me of flower pots and pans. The guitars sound as expected, they surely could use more punch. But I'd be okay with that "low-fi" sound, if it supported the overall atmosphere of the songs. In my opinion, it doesn't - it's quite the opposite. The sound is way too flat and one-dimensional, as is the overall songwriting. rSunbather really touched me, while New bermuda leaves a stale taste in my ears.
