Some of the greatest and most beautiful lead guitar work I've ever heard on an album. The backing rhythm is full of heaviness and really puts out a groove that fits perfectly with the drums. An album with some great grooves but some stellar melodies too, makes this one of my favorite EPs of all time. Can't wait to see more from these guys.

Breakdown of Sanity Perception
It's amazing how Breakdown of Sanity can make an album filled with breakdowns and still make it so much fun to listen to. This album is a step up from Mirrors in every way, except for the vocals. There are some great guitar solos and atmospheric sounds and the drums are great as usual. But on this album the vocalist mostly just stays in the mid range. He does do some decent cleans that surprised me, but he shows so little range in his screams on this album that I was hoping for high vocals or something the whole time. But the vocalists are still pretty solid and the production is flawless. They might not be the most original band, but they are definitely fun to listen to.

A very talented and listenable band, let down by trying to do a bit too much on each song. This makes many songs drone on with a lot of unneeded filler. An album I can see myself only listening to all the way through once, but listening to a few great songs over and over.

An extremely heavy album with a great guitar tone that is enjoyable to listen to, even if the clean vocals areas are very sudden and not transitioned well (except towards the end of the album). Many of the songs lack a good structure (pun intended) and just jump between breakdowns, but the exciting time signatures and guitar effects sort of make up for it. The production also needed to much better especially for this type of music.

Avenged Sevenfold Hail To The King
This is exactly the direction I was hoping they wouldn't go in. Avenged Sevenfold is a talented band, but with their past couple of albums, that was really the only good thing. But with Hail to the King, they dumb down everything and make a pretty boring album that is only kind of held together by some alright guitar solos. Also, people are saying that they're going back to their roots and that isn't true in the least bit. Their first 3 albums were very good albums and this is just a mash-up of Metallica and Iron Maiden that is extremely generic and doesn't work well. The positive is the album ends okay. Listening to this just left a bad taste in my mouth thinking about what Avenged Sevenfold used to be like.
