Ben Folds Five The Unauthorized Biography of Reinhold Messner
Standout tracks like lullabye, magic and don't change your plans really highlight Ben Folds Five and what they're good at: being down to earth guys with down to earth problems and feelings. All expressed in such a real and creative way. Although I do like some songs versions on the Ben Folds Live album better (Narcolepsy, Army etc.). I think the band actually detracts from the intimacy of the songs.

A handful of throwaway tracks prevent this album from being more than excellent, but when it shines, it highlights the best of the unique sounds Kid Cudi represents.

3.5 great
Adele 21
If you like Adele like I do, it will be hard not to like this sophomore album. However, like many artists, these tracks do not for me add anything new to the Adele repertoire. In fact, the rawness of the her first album (19) in my opinion did more of what she does best: pure vocal power. With the added hooks, beats, instrumentation and production of the newer album, it kind of distracts/detracts a bit from the great old vocal arrangements she's capable of. Still great but just a tad underwhelming.
Ben Folds Songs for Silverman
Ben Folds Five Ben Folds Five
Florence and the Machine Ceremonials
Very hit or miss for me. Florence Welch for the most part shines in her own soulful, powerful way. But there are multiple occasions where and idea or sound of a song overstayed it's welcome.
Keane Under The Iron Sea
Kid Cudi Man on the Moon II: The Legend of Mr. Rager
Tennis Cape Dory
Breezy, upbeat and fun. While Cape Dory is not glancing upon any profound topics (think boats and beaches), the sound is clean and simple.

3.0 good
Aer The Reach
Excellent showing for a solid new duo. The sounds are fresh and the style is defined, although it was alot of the same old song and dance over the course of the album.
Beastie Boys Hot Sauce Committee Part Two
Blind Pilot We Are The Tide
Cake Fashion Nugget
Cake Pressure Chief
City and Colour Sometimes
Franz Ferdinand You Could Have It So Much Better
Jack Johnson Sleep Through the Static
The Hives Tyrannosaurus Hives
An overall solid Hives album, but it seems that they got far too complacent with their sound and therefore lacks the evolution of sound and style better artists cultivate with each new album.
Tyler, the Creator Goblin
Flashes of genius hampered by terrible filler tracks, a whiny attitude/wordplay permeating in one too many tracks, clunky flow and subpar guest spots.

2.5 average
American Football American Football
Cake Motorcade Of Generosity
The album to me sounds like all the worst cake songs together on one album. The sounds are very loose, unrefined and lazy. That being said, the worst of cake is average.
Carbon Leaf Indian Summer
Sounds like a slightly more serious version of weird al
