A fantastic and beautiful album, both musically and lyrically. Resisting the common teachings is uncommon in the human world. The themes in this album are fantastic too, some things we can relate to.

I discovered this band a few days ago and listened through the entirety of this record. Excellent EP. The guitar work is very good, however, what truly shines here are the vocals. Excited for what more this band puts out.

Although having a lot of flaws, the shining moments on this album are too great to call this, in my opinion, a bad album. Crucify Me and Alligator Blood are some of the most pulse-pounding songs i have heard this year, Crucify Me being the best one on the album. Don't Go, Blessed with a Curse, and It Never Ends show a little more of an emotional side, and still work as some great songs. The rest here are still "chugging songs," but they all have individuality to be enjoyable still.

I've had this album rated as a 4.5 for as long as I can remember. I decided to change it to a 5 as this album has aged super well since its release and was doing what its contemporaries weren't doing at the time. Each song stands on their own. The vocals are perfect and unique. The guitar work is heavy as hell and innovative for its genre. Each song can range from heavy as hell, to moody and emotive, to a mixture of both. Classic album. Choosing my favorite song of the bunch is super difficult.
Deftones Koi No Yokan
I thought this was more overrated at first, however the more I listen to this the more solid it has been. rBest tracks: Leathers, Poltergeist, Tempest, Rosemary

This album was a hard grower on me but has turned into one of the most immersive albums I have rhad the pleasure to listen to. There is something about the delivery regarding the overall message that rmakes it enjoyable and nice to listen to on some aspects, and downright unsettling at other times. It's rgenuine. We all have those little moments where we remember what it was like to be a child, where all rthe negative background noise of life was not present. The times where we let our imaginations go rwild. We view how we were those years ago and how we have changed for better or worse. This ralbum seems to acknowledge the reality of this and is appropriately grounded for what it is. Life goes ron and we grow older, but it's okay to feel down sometimes when we experience this reality. KKB rthinks so.

You know this has to be the first album that took me more listens than anything I have ever listened to before. Used to be a cacophony of noise and nothing else. However, once I got the concept (after several months and a tough breakup) I am impressed with the raw emotion and content of this album. Lyrics may be almost unhearable but are very poetic when looked at. An album that gets more interesting and captivating with each listen, and I honestly love it. I dont know it may have been me going through one at a time through but once I reached "Phoenix in Flight/Flames" it solidified my love for the album, and gave me the chills. Love the storytelling, all haunting, angry, emotive, and beautiful. (See: Concubine, Fault and Fracture, Homewrecker, Broken Vow, Phoenix in Flight/Flames, Jane Doe). All good songs though. Hard to put a finger on which ones in particular.

Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP 2
Yes. It is not the Marshall Mathers LP. It is not as intense as that one. Eminem is older now, away from the drug addict, hard life kind of person he was. As that album was a "biography" of himself back then, this is a "biography" of himself now, years later. His lyrics are more personal than last album, and aside from a few tracks I found the album enjoyable.

Hollywood Undead Swan Songs B-Sides
Before you say "Oh no! a 4 for Hollywood Undead! Kill it with fire!" let me tell you, that Hollywood Undead shows their serious side here again, but with better songwriting, and better meaning in these four songs. "Pain" is one highlight, describing how we should see the pain in refugees in other countries and the terrible things they go through. "Knife Called Lust" describes lust as a knife, as the title says. Friends can betray friends, "everyone sins and it all begins, it goes back around no body ever wins and you stab yourself in the back..." Describes one hurting himself because of lust. One does not "win" from lust, they just lose. "The loss" is a dark track, about one losing someone and describing "why do i cut myself?" Deep, but why do people cut themselves? Because it feels good? Such questions.... "The Natives" is a generally fun track to listen to, being the only fun song out of the 3 serious ones. Generally, if Hollywood Undead wrote more like this, they would be more successful with their songwriting.

Parts of EARTHANDSKY and this EP has shown some more progressive elements that the band has taken, and if this is the direction the band will embrace on their next LP then I'm all for it. Obsolete is a pretty good track from these guys and the other two songs are solid.

Hollywood Undead American Tragedy
You Can tell that they strive here to have stronger songwriting, and succeed in a couple. The rest, however, fail to do so. rThere is one thing this album is missing: emotion, and wit. rThey seem to try to take a small bit of the types of songs on swan songs and make it, just different. While I like hollywood undead, i have to say, the lyrics suck on most of them. Here, the lyrics are better, but there are some bad songs here that just bring the album down. rA better attempt at an album than Swan Songs, where the songs on there were like "Fuck all haters, Bitches, booze, drugs, etc."rThe lyrics on some songs ignore those kinds of songs, but some had no heart at all with the lyrics (Lights Out? Apologize? My Town?)rThe album separates itself into different categories,rThe Good (tracks 1-3)rThe Bad and Okay (Tracks 4-9)rThe Brilliant (Tracks 10-14)rThe Okay Part 2 (15-17)rand the.. great finish (18,19)rPros:r-Charlie Scenes Rappingr-Danny's Voicer-Tracks 10-14rCons:r-J3T rapps too muchr-Where the hell is Da Kurlzz? r-Tracks 4-9r

2.5 average
Architects For Those That Wish to Exist
Very bland material compared to previous albums. Over half the tracks go in one ear and out the other. Specific problems this album shows in the majority of the songs are: Sam's vocals are underwhelming, the slow, spoken vocals in almost all of the songs ruin any momentum the songs build up for themselves, sterile and uninteresting metalcore guitar, and some of the lyrical content have downright cringe-worthy lines. That being said, in the large tracklisting, there are songs that are not too bad compared to the rest due to them standing out from the rest due to trying new things or simply being better than the blander tracks (Goliath, Demi-God, Impermanence, Dying is Absolutely Safe, An Ordinary Extinction - each to their own extent are worth checking out).

Hollywood Undead Notes From the Underground
I dont understand. What is sputnik's problem with Hollywood Undead? They may seem to copy Hybrid Theory Era Linkin Park, and have similar sound to Limp Bizkit with this album, but who cares? I think they did better and they were more mature with this album. I know people rate this band as a 1 just because sputnik hates them. Why don't you try listening to them actually? Im not saying that they are a great band, and there are better bands out there, not going to lie. But they are certainly better than a 1. I didn't expect such a sound from Hollywood Undead, but i kind of like it.
Hollywood Undead Day of the Dead
Hollywood Undead Five
Band has always been a guilty pleasure for me. I actually did get excited from the four singles that were released and did enjoy the new rock-oriented sound and production. Too bad these were the best four in a cesspool of either uninteresting pop/rap songs and two of the worst songs I've heard this year (Cashed Out, Riot).
I Prevail TRAUMA
Some of these songs are actually all right. The problem is, they are offset by either oddly poppy or awful songs. Average. 2.4/5
Jay-Z Magna Carta... Holy Grail
Had some good beats, but horrible lyrics, possibly the worst in Jay Zs career. Who wants to hear him rap about how much stuff he has? This record is not the "change in music" as it was hyped to be.

Motionless In White Disguise
"Undead Ahead 2" had me interested to give this a listen, aside from occasionally listening to the title track (which is still pretty mediocre). Unfortunately, the entire album is what I expected. "Headache" is pretty much ruined by the repetitive "shut up" in the chorus coupled with some out of place dj-scratches, "Legacy" goes in one ear and out the other, "Brand New Numb" is ruined by the repetitive chorus (go figure once again) and the rest are forgettable. "Thoughts and Prayers" is a standout in addition to the aforementioned "Undead Ahead 2," but I wish these guys would just stick to what they are good at. We can only hope.
Muse Simulation Theory
When the "super deluxe" tracks are way better than the originals (remixes, acoustic versions). No rseriously, it makes me mad that these were not the tracks, cause they're actually good. Agreed with rmost of these people though. The first three tracks are great, then completely falls off. Best tracks: rAlgorithm, The Dark Side, Blockades
Panic! at the Disco Pray for the Wicked
Papa Roach Crooked Teeth
Shinedown Threat to Survival
Skillet Awake
Skillet Rise

Skrillex Bangarang
The Devil Wears Prada Plagues
The Devil Wears Prada With Roots Above and Branches Below
The Offspring Days Go By
Its not what i was hoping for, but its... decent, and there are some good songs on here. Dividing by Zero shows that the offspring have the potential to go back to what they made in "Smash" and "Ignition." Slim Pickens shows that they have the potential to make better songs, like this. Some songs have cliched choruses and some are unoriginal. "All i have left is you" just sounds like a bad "Kristy are you doing okay" ripoff. Cruising California just sounds, bad. Looks like they are trying to appeal to the popular crowd. However, Turning into you, hurting as one, OC guns, and the last two bring it up to a 3.
Tool Fear Inoculum
Maybe my rating will change soon in the future but I just haven't gotten into it yet after several listens. Musicianship is solid as always, though.

Hollywood Undead Hollywood Undead
In Flames Battles
Not the most unlistenable thing in the world, but so plain and boring with some cringey lyrics/tryhard choruses that make this quite poor. "Drained" isn't bad though, and "The End" would also be a decent listen if it wasn't for the oddly placed child choir in the chorus.

Emmure Eternal Enemies
Emmure The Respect Issue
Almost every song sounds exactly the same, same open string cords played in less than 3 minutes and repeated. That being said with how repetitive the songs are in the first half it makes anything that happens slightly different in the second half sound way better than it actually is.

I checked this out due to sheer curiosity. My god. These are the worst most grating vocals I?ve ever heard in my life. Uninspired instrumentals. If this isn?t the bottom of the barrel of death metal/metal I don?t know what is.
