| This album is so powerful. The voice, the drums, the guitars, the bass, everything. The entire mood created by Steven Wilson is so entertaining. From the intense riffs of "Fear of a Blank Planet", to the album's cornerstone, "Anesthetize", passing by, in my opinion, the band's best ballad, "My Ashes", the 51-minute masterpiece never stops to amaze. From the first to the umpteenth listening, it always achieve to shine. Definitely a 5/5, and probably a spot at number one album on my all-time best albums. |

| I found this album while strolling in a random music store. I listened to the first 2 minutes of the first song and immediately bought the album. I had never heard of Between the Buried and Me before that, but I think the album may only make me want to buy another of the band's album. |

| Cela aura ete si pres de moi tout ce temps, mais j'ai attendu d'atteindre l'age adulte pour vraiment profiter pleinement de ce qu'on m'offrait sur un plateau d'argent. Venant du Quebec, j'ai grandi en ecoutant les vieux disques de mes parents et parmi ceux-ci, deux incontournables d'Harmonium, l'album eponyme et "Si On Avait Besoin d'une Cinquieme Saison". J'ai toujours associe Harmonium a ce qu'on pourrait appeler un groupe culte du folklore quebecois, alors que c'est en faite bien plus. Je n'ecoute plus l'album eponyme de la meme facon non plus, mais c'est encore plus apparant avec celui-ci. Les creations du genie derriere le groupe - Serge Fiori - reussissent a allier a la perfection les aspects typiques de la culture quebecoise, qu'on ne retrouvera dans un aucune creation d'ailleurs, et la musique progressive. Meme si vous ne parlez pas couramment francais, cet album est tout simplement le summum du progressif et merite d'etre ecoute. |

| I may be overestimating its true talent, but I see a lot of resemblances between Rody Walker, the front-man of Protest the Hero, and the legendary Freddie Mercury of Queen. Add to this some kick-ass guitar and bass riffs, along with average, while still pretty efficient drum lines, and you get ten work-of-the-art songs (eleven with the Japan-exclusive instrumental "To Porter with Love"). Every song on the album is simply impressive and this stands out even more when you listen to the album as a whole. |
