| A great album, amazing music throughout, ok yes there are little bits of filler here and there but nothing to lower it to a 4.5 as the filler is few and far between. There is brilliant synth on the album and the funky beat at the end of "Nimrodel" is pure ear candy, everything is great the bass, the brilliant guitar solos that pop up every so often and the drums which are the powerhouse for the music. There are also numerous other sounds to enjoy. The lyrics aren't as good as other prog bands but they aren't bad either. The lyrics on "Mirage" are full of imagery, there aren't many if any lyrics that are based on concept themes like on "Dark Side of the Moon", but as i said before that isn't a bad thing as they are still interesting to listen to. "Mirage" is spacy prog music at it's best. I would put this ablum up as one of the greatest prog albums alongside the likes of Pink Floyd, Yes, Genesis and King Crimson |

| what a great experimental album the 23 minute atom heart mother suite is epic with funky dung having to be some of the best music by the floyd, great orchestra throughout and soundeffects. If is a lovely song by waters, it isn't a very complex song but has brilliant lyrics which are very thought provoking, summer 68 by wright returns to the orchestra and has great harmony sections "how do you feeeeel!" david gilmours fat old sun is imo the best of the 3 shorter songs, it is very laid back and summery and has a great guitar solo to finish it off, the album ends with alan's psychedelic breakfast with 3 sections of music in it seperated by the sounds of alan making breakfast and so on, it is an enjoyable track which is quite funny in parts, and the music is very good with lovely acoustic and slide guitar and organ. A great album for floyd fans, but not the best album to start your PF collection with |
