The album builds into fantastic songs that are then followed up by...nothing substantial. High production values may offset purists but make the melodies (which might also offset purists) come to life. This is a package of 10 tightly wound songs, although I would have started the album with Koldens, to be honest. It starts somewhat abruptly.Juno Reactor LabyrinthJuno Reactor ShangoLeftfield Rhythm And StealthMachinae Supremacy OverworldMachinae Supremacy A View from the End of the WorldMastodon LeviathanOpeth My Arms, Your HearsePitchshifter Infotainment?Pop Will Eat Itself The Looks or the LifestylePorcupine Tree Fear of a Blank PlanetRammstein MutterRammstein Liebe Ist Für Alle DaWumpscut Wreath Of BarbsWumpscut EmbryodeadWumpscut Evoke3.5 greatMachinae Supremacy ArcadeNaglfar SheolNevermore The Politics of EcstasyNightwish OnceOpeth DeliverancePain (SWE) Psalms of ExtinctionPop Will Eat Itself This Is the Day...This Is the Hour...This Is This!Rammstein Reise, ReiseTactical Sekt SyncopeTactical Sekt Burn ProcessThe Sisters of Mercy Floodland3.0 goodArch Enemy Anthems of RebellionArch Enemy Rise of the TyrantCovenant Northern LightSome superb tracks - "Call the Ships to Port," "We Stand Alone," "We Want Revolution," but zero cohesiveness, and a lot of really awful filler. The superb tracks are classics to the fullest meaning of the word - I still get chills when I listen to "Call the Ships to Port" after having heard it hundreds of times - but the filler tracks are so awful...I don't listen to it as an album. This is the usual Covenant experience, unfortunately.Eluveitie SlaniaFields of the Nephilim DawnrazorMachinae Supremacy Deus Ex MachinaeMastodon Blood MountainMeshuggah obZenNaglfar PariahNightwish Over The Hills And Far AwayThousand Foot Krutch Welcome to the MasqueradeIt's one of the few radio friendly rock albums I genuinely enjoy, and it just so happens to be from a Christian band. A small irony, I suppose. Tracks like "E for Extinction" and "Fire It Up" are what I'd like to hear more of on the radio. Less crap, please. That said...there are a lot of songs where the evangelizing is absolutely smothering, and that really kills a lot of the album for me.
