I cant praise this band enough. I remember hearing about them when they had a facebook page with just 3k likes, and I listened to Fragments and Vitues, which were the previews. Most of the people giving them *** wont know that. Back to the album. 10 tracks, 10/10 for all of them. I dont stick with a band until they have gained 13,000 more fans if I dont see a ***ton of talent. So yes, I followed this band from pretty much the start and I have been in touch regularly, doing what I can to promote them. Then Inheritors is released. I remember going straight to the CD store and buying two copies, for many reasons. They remeind me of a more brutal and more talented Arcitechts. Chris Nutting seriously nails it for vocals on this album, as do all the members in their roll in the band. Revelations is probably the heaviest and most pleasing track, but all of them are good. The band are overall very refreshing from the typical sing them fry scream then sing then fry scream then sing then............ yeah, gets boring. But serianna seriously nailed for their debut album. One of the things I would constuctively criticise is to give the bass player more of a roll. But otherwise the band are a standout talent instrumentally, with restless and very pleasing drumming. The guitarist stands out from most modern metal guitarist because he isnt a find a slightly catchy riff then repeat it guitarist. He moves on to new, ever more catchy riffs. Its has been a few months since their album was released, and I cant wait to see them over in the UK, so congratulations for a great debut.4.5 superbAvenged Sevenfold Avenged SevenfoldIn my opinion this album by Avenged Sevenfold has been rated very unfairly. The album is mostly excellent, only let down by Dear God and possibly Lost (?). Either way, the other nine possibly eight songs are 10/10 in my opinion. I will put the songs in order, the first being my favourite, last being least favourite. 1) A Little Piece of Heaven 2)Afterlife 3)Critical Acclaim 4)Scream 5)Unbound (the wild ride) (fantastic drumming) 6)Almost Easy 7)Gunslinger 8)Brompton Cocktail 9)Lost 10) Dear God A lot of people have said that every song on the album sounds the same. I'm not completely sure what drug these people are taking, but its seriously affacting their hearing. I would like to ask how A Little Piece of Heaven sounds like Critical Acclaim, if anyone can answer that I will definately be suprised. I have only being listening to Avenged Sevenfold since january 2011 myself, and I have been very pleased all together. The vocals on the album are excellent and pretty mucg flawless, with the infamous nasal whine gone. Shadows hits some excellent high notes on scream, or to be fair most songs. I would also like to reinforce the point that avenged sevenfold had to change their sound from screaming vocals to clean vocals because Shadows burst a blood vessel in his throat because of screaming incorrectly, it was not because they wanted to be more mainstream. Also, anyone who has the Escalation map pack for CoD: Black Ops will see that Shadows has regained the ability to scream, more about that in my review for nightmare. More about their self titled album. It isnt quite as heavy as City of Evil but it still has the heavy vampiric nature and is certainly not as mainstream as people have said. In fact it isnt mainstream at all, anyone who knows what A Little Piece of Heaven is about will agree. There is no screaming on the album except background ones that I believe were performed by The Rev (R.I.P.) on Critical Acclaim mainly. Like I said, dear god definately let the album down, I'm not sure why a country inspired song found its way onto the album, but it would have been better to have had a very heavy song their, to keep all of the Sounding the seventh trumpet fans happy. All in all I think the self titled album was a success, and I would give the album a solid 4.5. The missing 0.5 would be dear god and one too few heavy tracks.Black Veil Brides We Stitch These WoundsInherit Disease Procreating An Apocalypsegets a tad boring..more than compensated for by the unwavering brutality m/Iron Maiden The Number Of The Beast4.0 excellentIron Maiden A Matter Of Life And Death3.5 greatBring Me The Horizon There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It...
