Amazing album. I'm okay with the guitar wankery, the drums are not as "jazzy" and groovy as in the previous album and the vocals sometimes goes to the background after a few songs. The melodies are great (especially on the first two songs for which I'm addicted), but the problem goes on the next two songs, which are kind of awkward, slow-paced and groove driven songs that should've been let near the end; not bad songs but not in the proper order. This is what makes me feel disappointed about the album, that suddenly mid-through the album you feel like it lost its pace and you can't keep following it. BUT if you give it a few listens from "The Path" and forward, you'll find melody, harmony, ambient and progressivity. "A Common Hope" sounds like it could be the first track on Leading Vision, and "Watershed" is clearly their best instrumental.
I don't want to extend a lot more (which I already did =P) but I'll resume: listen after midway the album and you'll find this album has its charm.
By the way, they released their EP trailer and sounds just great! One of the acoustics is a nice version of "Blackout" and I'm looking forward to what they have to offer on that 14 minutes song.
