5.0 classic
Aquilus Griseus
Derek and the Dominos Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs
Interpol Turn on the Bright Lights
Dark, moody, dynamic and sometimes depressing. However, compared to the rest of the bands discography, this album almost seems like an "accident"r
Joe Bonamassa Sloe Gin
One of the best contemporary blues records. The mix between electric and accoustic guitars on this album seperates it from most standard blues rock albums. I highly recommend everyone to check out the title tack, because it is one of the most outstanding blues rock songs I have ever had the pleasure to listen to.
Muse Origin of Symmetry
The mix of agression, melancholy and energy on this album is just breathtaking. Bellamys falsetto and his guitar playing are the 2 most outstanding elements on this album. Overall, the album is catchy and yet interesting enough to keep me returning to it again and againr
Opeth Still Life
Opeth Damnation
Criminally underrated. One of the most melancholic but yet... technically good albums. I never expected Akerfeldt to scream any second on this album. Allthough I also like the death metal elements in Opeth, I never expected and wanted Akerfeldt to growl even once on this album. It is (almost) perfect the way it is.
Porcupine Tree In Absentia
Porcupine Trees best album to date, allthough it isn't their most cohesive oner
Radiohead OK Computer
Obviously one of the most important alternative releases over the last 20 years. However, I don't think it is really worthy of all the hype it gets from several journalists and websites - but it is still an outstanding album.
Radiohead In Rainbows
My favourite Radiohead album. I just like the "jazzy" and "melancholic" elements - It sounds less serious than "OK Computer", which makes it more enjoyable in everday situations in my opinion.
Steven Wilson Grace for Drowning
Whenever I listen to this album, I forget about the world around me and I start to think of various scenes and images in my head - scenes from my past, scenes which are purely fictional and scenes which are just beatiful.
The Reign of Kindo Rhythm, Chord & Melody
I found the perfect Indie Pop Album for myself. Their love for details and yet catchy melody is really unique.

4.5 superb
A Perfect Circle Thirteenth Step
As much as I would like to give it a 5... I cant. And I can't even explain why. I really like the overall melancholic vibe on this album, but it is missing the "special something".
Agalloch The Mantle
Agalloch Pale Folklore
Autumn's Grey Solace Within the Depths of a Darkened Forest
Brand New The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me
Cynic Focus
Cynic Traced in Air
Cynic The Portal Tapes
Deathspell Omega Paracletus
Deathspell Omega Drought
Entropia (PL) Vesper
Estatic Fear A Sombre Dance
Explosions in the Sky The Earth Is Not a Cold Dead Place
Godspeed You! Black Emperor Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas to Heaven
Godspeed You! Black Emperor F♯ A♯ ∞
Jack White Blunderbuss
Katatonia Brave Murder Day
Katatonia Dead End Kings
King Crimson In the Court of the Crimson King
King Crimson Larks' Tongues in Aspic
Midas Fall Wilderness
Muse Absolution
Some of the songs are simply not good enough to call this album a classic. Sorry, that's the way it is. But the idea of adding elements of classic music was simply genius, because it fitted Muse style so well.
Ne Obliviscaris Portal of I
Neutral Milk Hotel In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Nightwish Oceanborn
Nightwishs A-Game. Only downside is, that it starts to sounds a bit monotonous at some points. Tarja's voice is just beatiful and epic at the same time.
Nirvana Nevermind
Norah Jones Come Away with Me
Opeth Blackwater Park
Some of the tracks are just mehhh(e.g. Dirge for November), while others are just genius(e.g. the Lepper Affinity). The overall impressions was really good nonetheless.
Opeth My Arms, Your Hearse
Opeth Ghost Reveries
Pink Floyd The Dark Side Of The Moon
Pink Floyd Animals
Pink Floyd Wish You Were Here
Porcupine Tree Deadwing
Take your time and listen to the album as a whole and you will like it much more than if you start to listen to the tracks individually.
Queens of the Stone Age Songs for the Deaf
Queens of the Stone Age Rated R
One of the best Hard Rock albums to come out in the last decade. QotSA defintely sound more creative than most of their peers.
Queens of the Stone Age Lullabies to Paralyze
Queens of the Stone Age ...Like Clockwork
Radiohead Kid A
I never thought I'd actually write this, but: This is not a 5, because it is not accessible at all. Not at all. Additionally, it sounds too repetitive at times.
Red Hot Chili Peppers Blood Sugar Sex Magik
Sigur Ros Agætis byrjun
Sigur Ros ( )
Stone Temple Pilots Purple
Storm Corrosion Storm Corrosion
The Dear Hunter The Color Spectrum (Complete Collection)
The White Stripes De Stijl
Their most authentic and inspired record in my opinion. It is a step up from their debut in terms of songwriting and still more fresh than the follow-up albums.
Thundercat The Golden Age Of Apocalypse
Tiamat Wildhoney
Tom Waits Mule Variations
Two Steps From Hell Legend
Ulver Shadows of the Sun

4.0 excellent
A Perfect Circle Mer de Noms
Agalloch Ashes Against the Grain
Alcest Écailles De Lune
Alter Bridge Blackbird
Alter Bridge AB III
It would've been an superb album if there hadn't been some songs on the album. They completely destroy the atmosphere and make it repetitive at points(e.g. Breathe Again). Some song structures are used too often - for example "Fallout" and "Coeur d'Alene" sound really similar in terms of structure ...too similar. Not saying that I hate the happy songs on this album, but they don't create a good contrast to the rest of the album. In fact, they are just mediocre(or even less).
Alter Bridge Fortress
Audioslave Audioslave
Bad Company Bad Company
Black Country Communion Black Country
Black Country Communion 2
Black Stone Cherry Folklore and Superstition
Blackfield Blackfield
Excellent melancholic Pop/Rock. It catches the atmosphere of a beatiful autumn day like no other album I have ever heard. One downside is the duration of the album, which is rather short and it has no sort of lasting effect on me. Pop/Rock as it should be - catchy, slightly melancholic and not too long.
