I'm surprised that this has a lower average than the previous two albums, while the previous two had some great individual tracks, as a whole they bored me to death. Each song on Takk... brings something new to the table and I think it is more than deserving of my 5 and I'm surprised that it doesn't have more.

I don't know why the fuck I have this rated so high, because in truth there's parts here that make me want to claw my ears out... And then there's parts that are like the most brilliant thing ever. My rating has been steadily rising since I first heard this album and I'm like "NO! Why the fuck do I like this?" but I still like it y'know? It makes about as much sense as this album.

Insta-4.5 and probably not changing. It's got the power and cohesiveness that Yanqui didn't
have but it still feels like a bit of an afterthought to their early material. Either way
album fucking rules, yes even for a GY!BE album. The hype is justified.

Maybe its just me but almost every aspect of this album reminds me of Brother, Sister which, to me, is an extremely good thing. My initial reaction wasn't as instant as with Somewhere at the Bottom... but I can see this becoming a 5 with time. Songwriting has improved immensely with more natural feeling buildups, less spastic changes, and a more clear and connected story that ties together the short stories within. Not to mention, King Park is one of the most beautiful, heart-wrenching songs I've ever heard and easily the best of La Dispute's career. If you have some deep connection to Somewhere at the Bottom... you will likely be disappointed by this album, but give it time and a fair chance and you will find that La Dispute doesn't disappoint anywhere.
