I'm trying to put my Edguy fandom aside for this one since, prior to Rocket Ride and Tinnitus Sanctus, I was a pretty huge Edguy fan.rAfter listening to the likes of Mandrake and Vain Glory Opera it's apparent that Edguy have(/had) a remarkably unique sound and style that has shockingly been shoved to the wayside and forgotten entirely, which was arguably their best selling point as a band. The whole album reeks of "Quick! Let's do something popular!" and thus has become something likeable to newcomers of Edguy's music and something of a disappointment to existing fans like myself.rOverall, as a standalone album Rocket Ride is enjoyable. In contrast to Edguy's previous and vastly superior work, Rocket Ride is flat, boring, and trying too hard to be something it simply should NOT be.rIf you didn't like this, don't waste your time with Tinnitus Sanctus either.
