Its originality and especially its lyrical ferocity, dexterity and overall skill are things I have not seen in almost any rap albums in a long time. The only thing i could say that is lacking at times during this album are the beats... at times they seem to lack the greatness and originality of Kendrick's words. He got better. The Production quality of this album is better than anything he has made along with the diversity of the songs. With that said, the diversity of the songs becomes the albums weakness. He has never been as soft and tame as he is in Telecommunications, never as head banging electric as in Professional Grievers and ... Hip Hop! which is a great but breaks album flow. The album ends up with unclear direction and messy. With that said, Its for the most part, a great group songs but less of an album. Some of his best content is on this album, along with some of his worse, this is his most choppy piece but still good in my eyes.
