5.0 classic
Cannibal Ox The Cold Vein
Edan Beauty and the Beat
My all-time favorite hip-hop album. Fluid production, with nice old-school sampling and laid-back beats, not to mention that sort of flangy distortion and the little noodly trippy bits that you'd expect from the psychedelic era. His lyrics definitely aren't coherent at times, but those times are few and far between and are usually overshadowed by the production anyways. All in all, a classic album and truly deserving of a 5 considering he put it all together himself. A master craftsman indeed, albeit a slightly off-kilter one.
Genelec & Memphis Reigns Scorpion Circles
Easily one of the most underrated hip-hop albums of the 2000s. Instant classic.

Chance the Rapper Acid Rap
Converge All We Love We Leave Behind
Dark Moor The Gates of Oblivion
My favorite power metal album. The fact that the guitar takes a backseat to the vocals makes it pretty unique for their genre. Speaking of vocals, I love Elisa Martin on this, their new vocalist doesn't do much for me. All in all though, awesome album, awesome musicianship, and it never gets boring, unlike their newer material.
