5.0 classic
Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties In Lieu of Flowers
Dead Leaves absolutely destroyed me. Campbell has continued to grow this thing into an absolute juggernaut.
Blindfolded and Led to the Woods The Hardest Thing About Being God Is That No One…
This is some straight up evil shit. Might up to a 5 the more I listen to this. Something here is
really clicking for me.

Edit: It's a 5.
Boston Boston
Devil Sold His Soul Loss
Every Time I Die Radical
Haken The Mountain
Machine Head The Blackening
Mastodon Crack the Skye
Mastodon Leviathan
Megadeth Rust In Peace
Metallica Master Of Puppets
Metallica ...And Justice For All
Metallica Ride The Lightning
Silverstein This Is How the Wind Shifts
Slayer South Of Heaven
Soundtrack (Theatre) The Book of Mormon
Thank You Scientist Stranger Heads Prevail
This is absolutely outstanding. And while I'm not one for instrumental tracks "Rube Goldberg Variations" is a fantastic instrumental and really is a showcase for how talented the members of this band are. I didn't think an album would challenge Terminal Redux for my AOTY but this is sure making a strong case. Can't stop playing it.
The Wonder Years The Greatest Generation
Vektor Terminal Redux
Album of the years. This is even better than the singles indicated.

4.5 superb
Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties We Don't Have Each Other
As I Lay Dying The Powerless Rise
August Burns Red Found in Far Away Places
Between the Buried and Me Coma Ecliptic
Demiser Slave to the Scythe
Every Time I Die From Parts Unknown
Every Time I Die Low Teens
Ghost (SWE) Meliora
Ghost (SWE) Prequelle
Haste the Day Coward
Knocked Loose You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To
This just keeps getting better with each listen. Only song that doesn?t quite work for me is Slaughterhouse 2.
Lamb of God Ashes of the Wake
Lamb of God Sacrament
Mastodon Emperor of Sand
Palm Reader Braille
Periphery Periphery IV: Hail Stan
Protest the Hero Palimpsest
Rolo Tomassi Time Will Die And Love Will Bury It
Aftermath -> Rituals is the best transition I've heard in years.
Scar Symmetry Holographic Universe
Silverstein Redux II
Silverstein I Am Alive In Everything I Touch
Silverstein Redux: The First 10 Years
Holy shit. If there was ever a band that needed to re-record old material Silverstein had to be near the top of the list. Shane has improved drastically since their inception and his improvements make this album. Was hoping for some new music this year from them but this is great way to mark their 10 year anniversary.
Slayer Reign In Blood
Slayer Seasons In The Abyss
Slipknot We Are Not Your Kind
Angry, heavy and more experimentation than I was expecting. Not to mention Corey sounds better than he has in years.
Slipknot Vol. 3: The Subliminal Verses
Slipknot Slipknot
Slugdge Esoteric Malacology
Soilwork The Ride Majestic
Son of Aurelius Under a Western Sun
Thank You Scientist Terraformer
The Acacia Strain You Are Safe From God Here
Vincent said it best - they make "dumb music for smart people." This is so fucking stupid and heavy. It fucking rules. These guys do not miss.
The Black Dahlia Murder Nightbringers
The Dear Hunter Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise
The Devil Wears Prada ZII
I don't know what it is about zombies that brings out the best in these guys, but shit this is
good. Also Termination is definitely the weakest here but I don't think it's as bad as everyone
else seems to think it is. Forlorn and Nora are two of the best songs they have written.
The Wonder Years No Closer to Heaven
The Wonder Years Burst & Decay
The Wonder Years Sister Cities
Witchery In His Infernal Majesty's Service

4.0 excellent
A Day To Remember Common Courtesy
Aaron West and The Roaring Twenties Routine Maintenance
Something about this isn't clicking for me, especially after revisiting We Don't Have Each Other.
The lyrics are really good and emotional. But something about the instrumentation has taken a step
back for me. A lot of the songs feel samey and I think it's due to the overuse of the horns. They
don't work for me in a lot of the songs and feel shoehorned in.

EDIT: I've almost completely done a 180 on this. It finally clicked for me and it's been on
constant repeat since. The overuse of the horns still kinda bothers me but this is one hell of an
album and narrative.
Between the Buried and Me Automata II
Voice of Trespass alone makes this a 3.5.

Something something 50 character limit.
Between the Buried and Me Automata I
Clutch Psychic Warfare
Demon Hunter True Defiance
Future Teens Self Help
Saw these guys open for Aaron West last week and thought they deserved some love. This is some really good "bummer pop" with some heartfelt and personal lyrical content. A nice little short listen.
Ghost (SWE) Opus Eponymous
Haken Affinity
Havok Time Is Up
He Is Legend White Bat
I nominate the ending of White Bat for moment of the year.
Iron Maiden The Book Of Souls
Killer Be Killed Killer Be Killed
Lamb of God Resolution
Lamb of God VII: Sturm Und Drang
Leprous Pitfalls
I am fully enamored with "Alleviate." Some of the best vocal work in the past few years on that song.
Machine Head Unto The Locust
Definitely gets better with more listens just like the single "Locust" did. Outstanding album that is different enough from the Blackening to stand alone.
Machine Head Through The Ashes Of Empires
Machine Head Burn My Eyes
Mastodon The Hunter
Mastodon Remission
Mastodon Blood Mountain
Mastodon Cold Dark Place
Mastodon Hushed and Grim
Megadeth Endgame
Metallica S&M

Metallica Kill 'Em All
Parkway Drive Deep Blue

Scar Symmetry The Unseen Empire
Slayer Christ Illusion
Slipknot Iowa
Slugdge Dim and Slimeridden Kingdoms
Stone Sour House of Gold and Bones - Part 1
Wovenwar Wovenwar

3.5 great
Bleed from Within Era
Bleed the Sky This Way Lies Madness
This really surprised me. I was big into Murder the Dance in high school so there's definitely an element of nostalgia here, but this is about as good as we could expect out of Bleed the Sky after 12 years. The production is pretty clean and its got some serious groove to it.
Bury Tomorrow Runes
Chimaira The Age of Hell
Demon Hunter Extremist
DevilDriver Winter Kills
Five Finger Death Punch War Is The Answer
Ghost (SWE) Infestissumam
Lamb of God Wrath
Lamb of God Lamb of God
Many Eyes The Light Age
Man this site is making me feel insane for enjoying this as much as I am. Yeah the lyrics aren't up to snuff compared to the latter ETID releases, but I don't think Keith wrote a lot of this, but I could be wrong. I think he sounds as good as ever here and I think his cleans are the best they've been too. Could use some more variety and less repetition in some sections but I'll be jamming this for the next few weeks probably.
Mastodon Once More 'Round the Sun
Mystery Weekend Surprise!
How did I miss this? The draw here is Rody, and he sounds as great as ever. However, the rest of the band is able to keep up with him. Interesting to hear Rody on a more pop punk styled album than typical Protest and it works for the most part.
Novena Eleventh Hour
Parkway Drive Atlas
Shinedown Amaryllis
Shinedown The Sound of Madness
Slayer God Hates Us All
Slipknot All Hope Is Gone

3.0 good
A Day To Remember Bad Vibrations
As I Lay Dying Awakened
Demon Hunter Outlive
Five Finger Death Punch The Way Of The Fist
Havok Burn
Havok Point of No Return
Havok Conformicide
Killswitch Engage Incarnate
Another Killswitch ass Killswitch album. Solid nonetheless. Being the first album that Jesse has fully worked on since rejoining there's a twinge of Times of Grace. And that's okay by me.
Lin-Manuel Miranda Hamilton - Original Broadway Cast
Megadeth Th1rt3en
Slipknot .5: The Gray Chapter
Solution .45 Nightmares In The Waking State Pt. 1
Not good, but not bad. Nothing stands out here; vocals are great as you'd expect from Christian, but there is nothing else noteworthy here. You would think they could have made something better than this in the five years since their debut.
Trivium In Waves
Winds of Plague Against the World
Winds of Plague The Great Stone War
Winds of Plague Decimate the Weak

2.5 average
Five Finger Death Punch American Capitalist
Havok Unnatural Selection
Light the Torch The Beauty Of Destruction
Howard's powerful vocals can't save this from being an extremely boring metalcore album.
Shinedown Threat to Survival
Silverstein A Beautiful Place to Drown
I'm so worried about this. These guys have been on a roll but the singles have been okay at best.

Yeah this is pretty disappointing. The lyrics have taken a huge hit from past albums. There
some enjoyment to be had here but it's all pretty forgettable. I'm sure this will hit for me when
I'm in more of a pop mood in the future if I remember it exists. Bad Habits is the best thing on
here. Bummer it's the first thing you hear.

2.0 poor
Five Finger Death Punch The Wrong Side of Heaven and The Righteous Side of Hell, Volume 1
Megadeth Super Collider
Parkway Drive Ire

1.5 very poor
Five Finger Death Punch Got Your Six
Tenacious D Post-Apocalypto
Can't believe how bad this is. Everything seems so uninspired and just about sex and not even in a fun Tenacious D way. It's also so short that it can't get anything going. Almost all the songs are less than 2 minutes and have no time to establish themselves.

1.0 awful
The Devil Wears Prada Flowers
Holy shit lol. I was coping hard that the singles were outliers but boy howdy this sucks ass.
