| (id like to first add that i wrote this when i was 16, but i like it) Some like to put this album down for its pop/dance core and repetitiveness. but for me, the feelings and emotions that noah lennox and crew spew over and over again remind me of nothing except the thoughts that haunt me in my mind all the time. when i hear his voice echoing "am i really all the things that are outside of me" i look around, and think, that of course we're all products of our surroundings, but what surrounds me and bounds me, isnt what my being has to succumb to. All the ridiculousness of the people in our world with their social expectations and warped visions on reality tend to try to force people to all be the same to the point they dont even realize how similar they are. occasionally, some people will look around and just want to break from whats happening around them, they question the reality encompassing them, and they just want to shout 'am i really all of this around me?!' Well thats how i feel. and many of these ideas represented in this album give me similar thoughts. while this may lack the raw emotion and brilliance of something like Feels or Strawberry Jam (some of their earlier work) it still deserves to be remembered as a special record for its consistent quality and unique feel. despite the basic, possibly excessive pop/dance base. i wrote so much more but itd |
