All Shall Perish The Price of Existence
August Burns Red Messengers
August Burns Red Leveler
August Burns Red Rescue & Restore
This is like a cross between Messengers and Thrill Seeker. Rescue & Restore is an album
with material that you can't actually predict. You don't know whats coming, and I haven't
been able to say that about metal-core in years. They finally employed Dustin's screaming
to a much larger extent before and it really hits hard.

The experimentation they did in this album actually fits, something that most bands
struggle to pull off. Somehow ABR actually manged to go back to their roots, yet come out
with a relatively tweaked new sound. Seriously, I wasn't expecting anything this good.

I really enjoy that I'm hearing breakdowns that are fully not expected. Metal-core album of
the year? Only time and many more replays will tell.

Oh, Sleeper The Titan
The only thing keeping this from a higher rating was the production which I found lacking.
Some of the "techiness" in the riffs on this EP are astoundingly catchy. It's aggressive
and heavy, but isn't plagued by an overabundance of breakdowns.

Now we saw traces of some of the "tech riffage" on songs like "Dealers of Fame" of Children
of Fire, but this EP abounds with them. This is definitely an EP you want to listen to a
few times through to really enjoy it for what it is. rShane's vocals continue to stand out
when compared to most of the metal coming out these days.
