Blu and Exile Below the Heavens
This is by far my favorite album, ever. With that, Blu has become my favorite artist. Not just my favorite hip hop artist, my favorite out of anyone. I've got my favorite rock artists and ones of different generations, but of all the music I've heard, Blu is the best. I've got (I think) everything he has put out. All his mix tapes and albums he's put out singly and with other artists. This is definitely the best one. There isn't a song that isn't good. Why I love it is because even on tracks where the beat may not be something that wows you, Blu still destroys the lyrics. As he says in the song First Things First; he can *** up any track that he raps too. Blu is one of the hopes for today's hip hop. His lyrics are intelligent and while he will rap about drinking and girls, he raps spiritually about life. The song The World Is...(Below the Heavens) Pt. 1 will change your life when you listen to it, just like this entire album will. If you want good, no make that great hip hop, you want to listen to this album.
