This is my favorite band of all time ... the album "Venus Doom" was amazing ... but this latest album made me feel like I wanted to cry (and not those happy tears). I've heard different sounds from this band, but they've never changed drastically until "Screamworks". I waited 3 years for this to come out, and when I heard it all I could think was that HIM has sold out. The rock roots and depth seem to be gone, and although the lyrics are still very good, the music is terrible. It's like a bad pop album. Maybe the new producer is to blame, but all I know is I can no longer relate to this music. I loved the dark undertones and gloomy feel that this band used to have. "Screamworks" is trying to break through to mainstream America ... you should have stuck with what you were good at, which was making great love/rock albums. I hope that HIM's next release is more like the band I used to know.
