Atmosphere God Loves Ugly
Big Boi Sir Lucious Left Foot
Blue Scholars Cinemetropolis
Though unlike any of their previous work, a more original and solidified style has done them well. While still having anthem like songs in their previous works, it's all been said before. Now with the new cinema mash-up thing going on it has given their previously semi-tired content a new and fresh vibe. Sabzi's new production is a far cry from his original style, but it suits MC Geologic's newer, more individualistic style much better, I believe.
Blue Sky Black Death Slow Burning Lights
CunninLynguists Will Rap For Food
An excellent collection of tracks, battle raps, ruminations on a few human issues, and fun ones.

Aesop Rock None Shall Pass
Black Milk Album Of The Year
Despite the fact that I enjoyed this album, I found some of the tracks' production were almost interchangeable, sounding incredibly similar. Although I enjoyed each track individually, it shows Black Milk's shortcomings as a producer. The difference between a good and great producer is the variability in the soundscapes they can produce. Black Milk is a good producer, making good beats but not ones that sound as dynamic as, say, Kno for example. Aside from that I believe the album was great.
Ghostface Killah Apollo Kids
Lloyd Banks H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2)
It's not amazing, it's not new, it's just straight up Lloyd Banks. A solid album.

1.5 very poor
Lupe Fiasco Lasers
This is what may have been the result of Atlantic completely screwing Lupe over. For almost
the entire album unoriginal club beats saturate it, with alright hooks at best, and
completely unlistenable ones at worst. Lupe's rapping is probably the best part of the
album, and even at that he obviously was not putting passion into his verses. The few
mentions of politics were unnecessary, and his defining characteristic, his lyricism, took
leave for most of this work. All in all, a bad album.
