Kendrick Lamar good kid, m.A.A.d city
To me, it wasn't good, but it wasn't bad. I've only listened through it once, and maybe in time it will grow on me, but for now, I don't see the hype.
Kendrick Lamar To Pimp a Butterfly
I don't know what it was about GKMC, but it just didn't click with me. I was thoroughly unimpressed. I didn't dislike it, but I didn't like it either. I felt like Kendrick's hype surpassed him. However, To Pimp A Butterfly is the quality of work I expected from him. Truly unique, and powerful.

Listened to this album a lot when I was younger, so it has a nostalgic quality for me. Objectively, the substance on this record is paper thin, but I still enjoy it.
Pete Droge Necktie Second
This album starts out strong, but loses my interest as it goes on. The first half of the record has some really catchy tunes.

My sister listened to this album on a road trip we recently took. Ended up hearing it about 1 and
a half times. I'm really not a fan of Pop, but within the genre, this is a great CD. Lots of
catchy tunes, which is really the only objective when it comes to Pop music, so it succeeds in
it's efforts. Great production, solid Pop record. Outside the genre: 2.5/5, Within the genre: 4/5. |
