A grower.. on first listen, due to being so fluid from song to song, although I enjoyed it, it caused the impression that all was a big enjoyable blur. After you let it sink in and get the hang of it, it's full of superb songs and the wholeness of the album just makes it better.
It may become a 5 in time, who knows? A 4.5 at the moment.
Edit : well, it's a 5.

At first this may be a minor let down if you are waiting for the return to TTTS. It turns down rthe hardcore edge of the band and turns up the more anthemic vein of ES. All in all, an hand full rof great additions to future setlists. Favs: An ode to Lost Jigsaw Pieces ; Airfieldr(3.8)

Slowdive Slowdive (LP)
Getting the news that Slowdive were back was, by its own, reason to rejoice, and if to that we add a new album, the expectations skyrocketed, at least for me, being Souvlaki one of my favorite albums. High expectations are hard too meet though, and it's always risky to come back 20 years later. Happily, Slowdived did met the expectations and gave us a superb record, full of walls of sound, dream-pop textures and space rock riffs. A AOTY contender.

They have a formula, it's a good formula and they do it right, but it's time to think about
shaking the things up and dont extend it so much, an hour and 6 minutes for something so
homogenic in it's core seems a stretch. Great album nonetheless.

Definitely their worst efort to date. Still have some great tracks (PYMOM, WDDL) and some
renjoyable ones (Electric Blue, s/t(although this one get's fastidious after a while)).. Some
filler and then... chemistry (don't dig that one at all.. so uninspired and repetitive.. it drags
for what feels like eternity on its 3:34 duration). WDDL prevents this from being average.
Hopefuly is their worst album ever..
