5.0 classic
Eminem The Eminem Show
I wouldn't actually call it a classic, but this is Eminem's best album. Lyrically, Eminem is usually top notch. The thing that separates this album from the LPs is Em's courage to separate himself from the rest of mainstream hip-hop. Following the success of Marshall Mathers Em could have easily kept up his shock oriented Slim Shady ego, but he utilizes his already unquestionable street cred to get into deeper, more personal issues as seen in Cleaning Out My Closet, Hailley's Song, Superman, and others. Em's natural charisma and ability + positivity = masterpiece.

4.5 superb
Eminem The Slim Shady LP
Eminem The Marshall Mathers LP
Kanye West The College Dropout

4.0 excellent
A Tribe Called Quest The Low End Theory
GZA Liquid Swords
MF DOOM MM.. Food
Ras Kass Soul on Ice
Classic in terms of content. Style is irregular, but brimming with intelligence. Though the most famous track is definitely Nature of the Threat, it is not the best on the album. Sonset is by far the best track I've ever heard from Ras Kass, it captures perfectly the West Coast's attitude toward East Coast entitlement.
Wu-Tang Clan Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers)

3.5 great
DangerDoom The Mouse And The Mask
Dizzee Rascal Boy In Da Corner
This is a great album if you're at a point when all the rap you hear is bleeding together. The beats are unbalanced, like the flow, they work perfectly together with Raskit's crazy theme. The accent only helps.
Gang Starr Full Clip: A Decade of Gang Starr

3.0 good
Aesop Rock Labor Days
Eminem Relapse
Eminem Infinite
Eminem The Slim Shady EP
Gang Starr The Ownerz
Ras Kass Rasassination
Not his best. H20proof, Interview with a Vampire, Wild Pitch, and Rasassination are excellent.

2.5 average
Eminem Recovery
Esham Boomin' Words from Hell
This is a classic in that it was the beginning of a movement. As it stands by itself, it is only average. Lyricism is raw, as intended, it gets a little hokey at times. This is a proudly low budget album, and it actually works because Esham is so unclean. The production is cheap but it effectively blends funk and old school hip-hop, it's actually my favorite part of the album. Worth getting if you're into the acid rap thing.

2.0 poor
