It's nature for every great band to experiment and adapt unless you wish for your band to live a short and successful life and while only the talentless fail (Linkin Park) Slipknot has emerged with a clear and distinct sound. From loud and heavy, to slow burning and trippy, to sad and solemn and experimental, All Hope Is Gone is a fine definition of what Slipknot is and a bold statement saying "You can't label, stereotype or figure us out!" It gives off the attitude and message they had ten years ago...just in a different vibe. While it may not be as jaw-dropping as many was hoping for...it's by no means a bad or average release. 3.0 goodSeether Disclaimer III haven't had a chance to listen to the first Disclaimer but Disclaimer II is a pretty good record by Seether. It definitely is mainstream because of its post-grunge and alternative metal styles but throughout the record there is a Nirvana feel. Shaun's singing and the guitars which are tuned lower, evoke that dormant Nirvana fan within. Though having a mainstream sound, there is that thought and creativity in them that draws a fine line between Nickelback and Seether which is really all one could ask for.
