Gave it a 4 at first and would now give it all 5, but since it's not a "classic" - a 4.5. Superb album and has given me more emotional uplift than some said great post-rock bands. Really excellent stuff. Every song makes you want to love is just unbelievably redeeming for the soul and desperately makes you want to hear them in some cramped up little basement.

Didn't like the previous albums and maybe this puts me in the position where I can't judge the band, but, man, did I love this albums few years back. Really love the proportions of hardcore and metal'esque heaviness on the riffs. For once, I think, the term metalcore suits a band perfectly.
Whitechapel Mark of the Blade
It's a 3.5 for me, but this band musically seems to be just getting better and better. rPeople ragged on Our Endless War, which to me seemed to be pretty much just the same as other release, but also tighter and just a fun listen. Especially if you're into working out and need something to get the blood pumping. rBut this album just.. I'm quite surprised, even though it's not what I'm looking for exactly (guess a little more simple.. ), but have to give props. rNot sure about the lyrics .. and I'm just adding this because I feel people just need to hear something bad about this band.

Where before there was a forced manic pace now comes a more mellow and yet still a powerhouse of passionate music. Songs shouldn't be looked at individually as much as a whole experience of the EP. CTTS exploring a new territory, whilst not straying away too far from home, has delivered a quite enjoyable experience.

decent, but below their average work. it still has its EITS features, which make them a good listen. still kinda "been there, done that" case here, so not great, but not bad either.
Frank Turner Positive Songs for Negative People
It's just .. I dunno. Feels like Frank didn't really bother with the name of the album as well.Aside from 'Get Better' and maybe 'Love Forty Down' and that's even a stretch - I'm pretty indifferent about this work. But hey - Poetry of the Deed can get a break now.

EDIT: It did grow on me (as usual as it is with me and FT), but it died down much faster.

Neaera Armamentarium
Noumenon (USA-IL) Party Mathematics
To the Travis' comment - it's not mathcore. Decent math rock with a nice up-beat going on there, the tapping parts on the guitars remind me of Britain's band Secondsmile. Not too much keen on the noisy tune, but there's some potential for this band.

2.5 average
Audrey Fall Mitau
It's hard to call this average when this band sounds like the same band across the street, like the one couple of blocks over "there". Like that band at that one gig and the millions before that. rBoring and done to death. Hard to even give this an average as this seems so bland I can't barely sit through a song, but maybe that's just me. So 2.5, I guess.

Man, I gave the EP a 3.5, but this was a let down. The re-recordings weren't needed. Elevate - just keep it as a LIVE version. False Idols was tuned great before. Deceive & Defy had minimal changes, but I didn't see a point. The rest - I dunno, I liked (and that's pushing it) 'Hate' and maybe 'Buszy', but the rest.. man. There's barely anything new - 3 tracks are sort of fillers, 3 tracks are re-recorded, which leaves 6 not-so-strong tracks that are .. kinda uninspiring for the most part.

If These Trees Could Talk Above the Earth, Below the Sky
Meshuggah The Violent Sleep Of Reason
Reminiscent feelings of Explosions in the Sky "Take Care, Take Care, Take Care" album. It sounds like the artist, but it just seems hollow and soulless.rMaybe I'm not in the mood for Meshuggah now, but now it seems like some superficial imitation. 'Our Rage Won't Die' is alright, but yeah, the rest seems like a blur and 'Stifled' had a weird ending.
Neaera Omnicide: Creation Unleashed
with each album they went closer to that death metal feel, the second album I think really had the perfect proportion, the third was a bit too much and this one is just a 'no' for me. hurr durr metal. for me it got too boring too fast.

Whitechapel Recorrupted
I don't even know, how can I evaluate this. It's like five songs where one is a cover, two are remixes that I don't think anyone really asked for (though the "this is exile" remix is kinda okay). The only actual Whitechapel that is going on seems to be 'Section 8' and that song is really nothing special, because if they'd actually go and do something creative, it wouldn't be deathcore anymore, right.rThey really need to go back to the first two release, see what worked and how they can make it even better. now it's just the same chuggin' diarrhea riffs with decent vocals on repeat, which gets boring within 30 secs. I can just hope that it's just this one shitty song they had to make to get back on some decent material.
