The album is a departure from the heavier sounds of earlier releases and relies more on synthesizer than guitar which is surprisingly fitting for their sound but might leave the metal-fans wanting, but any fan of modern progressive rock (especially Muse) owes it to themselves to check out Empirical Ghost.
