5.0 classic
Genghis Tron Board Up the House
Gizmachi The Imbuing
The Acacia Strain The Dead Walk
The Acacia Strain's quintessential album. There is nothing out there even remotely like this. 10 years from now kids will still be finding out about this band by discovering this album, a true tour de force in every sense of the word. This is quite literally music history in the making.
The National High Violet
Tool Lateralus
I still can't decide which album is their "masterpiece". I swear it's Ænema on some days while I'm absolutely sure it's Lateralus on others. Depends really on my mood and the mood in which each of these literally perfect albums induces in me. After 30,000 + listens of each in their entirety all I can say with any certainty is that these albums will be played at my funeral. Repeatedly.
Tool Ænima

4.5 superb
Arcade Fire The Suburbs
Despite what most say about Arcade Fire having a rise and subsequent fall on their debut and second album respectively, I'd have to strongly disagree and say that The Suburbs isn't so much a comeback but a necessary end. The conclusion to a trilogy, the keystone between two arches, the holy ghost of the father and the son. Whatever one wants to call it, the fact remains that a band like this only comes along so very infrequently. We should all enjoy it while they last. Before the hipsters smother us all with their annoyingly unhip scarves.
Genghis Tron Dead Mountain Mouth
The National Boxer
The National Sad Songs for Dirty Lovers

4.0 excellent
Genghis Tron Cloak of Love
The Acacia Strain 3750
A necessary step in the right direction for The Acacia Strain, 3750 takes off like no other album and the first track alone; Carbomb, truly examines what an intro song should sound like. If you like brutal with a healthy dose of violence then you have to experience this album.
The Human Abstract Digital Veil
Winning. In every sense of the word. A brilliantly pieced together ensemble of meticulous meanderings escalating to complex climaxes. Better than Nocturne in style and structure. Far beyond anything Midheaven tried to accomplish. If Digital Veil indeed was trying to re-invent or re-solidify The Human Abstract than yes, this is their masterwork.

3.5 great
The Acacia Strain Wormwood
A step in the right direction towards what had made them so spectacular in the first place. I can't say enough how amazing The Dead Walk was, it always will remain the pinnacle of their career but Wormwood is for better or worse a solid piece of brutal music.
The National Alligator

3.0 good
The Acacia Strain ...And Life Is Very Long
A great debut on any level. Portrays a raw attempt at what eventually became The Acacia Strain's signature sound.
Brutal lyrics with low-tuned, cleverly timed, meaty breakdowns. I still have no idea why a raven is like a writing desk
but neither did Poe. The conclusion of Sloth Loves Chunk makes my list of greatest Album Movie Quotes ever.
The National The National
Tool Undertow
Tool Opiate

2.5 average
The Acacia Strain Continent
Average in every way possible. Missed out on a chance to ride high and far off the success of The Dead Walk. Still decent, just mediocre.
