I suppose some of us can't appreciate the fact that a band takes a different approach on its sound sometimes. As much as I enjoy the first 4 QOTSA albums, Era Vulgaris blew me away at the first listen. Homme running out of ideas? I disagree. It's just called musical maturity. I enjoy the industrial touch of this album, I think it's a great experimental success for Queens. I wouldn't necessarily want them to focus on that particular sound on the next albums, but come on, this album deserve WAY more than 1.5. I find it more interesting than Lullabies, which was good but also very commercial. I'm glad to see Josh isn't the partying young adult he used to be. He's a grown up man, he's trying new stuff like "I'm Designer" and I just love it. Kudos to QOTSA, 5 awesome records in a row.
