Avantasia Ghostlights |
Avantasia Moonglow |
Beautiful album so far. Ghosts in the Moon is
particularly a work of art with some of the
most beautifully combined musical elements
especially in the last minute. Tobias voice
sounds like its coming from a much more
emotional place throughout the album as does
his musical writing.
Maybe to early to say but potentially
Avantasia's most immersive album so far. |

Dream Theater The Astonishing |
I'm still trying to digest Disc 1, but I must say, I got my moneys worth already. So far it's been a blast of an album, so whatever is on Disc 2 is pure bonus at this point. I for one have been preferring the ballads because they consist of beautiful melodies and top notch showcases of songwriting. rExtra shoutout to Ruddes who is on point throughout. |

Great album. It's quite a mix off Unia/DOG and thier earlier works. First 3 Tracks, Broken Hearts (Great opening riff here), Shitload of Money and Losing My Insanity sound more from the style you found in Reckoning night with some nice melodic riffs to be found. then it gets heavier with the next few songs until Cinderblox which has a fantastic solo in the second part of the song. Next comes the albums ballad Don't Be Mean which is has some great vocal work from Tony.rAll in All, this is a fantastic album. not as dark and heavy as thier previous 2 albums, but still some dark elements here to keep you headbanging. Best release in 2012 so far! |
Sonata Arctica Pariah's Child |
Sonata Arctica The Ninth Hour |
Trolls are always out on force on this website haha
To anyone who enjoys Symphonic/Power/Progressive metal, this is a must hear album of 2016 |
Sonata Arctica Talviyo |
Sound production isn't the greatest, but there are amazing melodies and beautiful sections
found all over in this album. It might not be as fast paced as the first few albums, but
the guys aren't in thier 20s anymore. People are giving it a bit more heat than it
deserves, in the end there is still lots in here that will greatly please Sonata fans and
power metal fans alike. I think most people made up thier mind with just the 2 singles as a
basis. |
