Alkaline Trio Maybe I'll Catch Fire
Avantasia The Metal Opera
The best power metal album ever created - ever song is an absolute fucking diamond. I
first heard it about 6 years ago and I have regularly listened to it ever since. Quite
possibly my favourite metal album of all time...

EDIT:

6 years after leaving this initial comment I still bloody love this album and listen to
it on a regular basis. It embodies everything that is silly and cheesy about power metal,
but it's just so well polished and written that it really does transcend the trappings of
the genre. Top stuff, and Sammet hasn't topped it since.

Roxy Music Stranded
My favourite roxy album of the pre Manifesto years, absolutely epic! It staggers me that this was written in the 70's, almost every form of music I've ever heard has aged to some extent (not that that is a particularly bad thing), but this album could have been recorded in any decade! It is truly timeless music, and goddammit I bloody love it.
Sepultura Chaos A.D.
Steel Panther Feel the Steel
Its strange that even though these are a parody, the songs are infinitely better than any other 80's glam band, and I have listened to this album far more than most other bands I like. In short, hilarious and frickin awesome!

blink-182 Dude Ranch
blink-182 The Mark, Tom and Travis Show
Bon Jovi New Jersey
Calabrese The Traveling Vampire Show
The best horror punk I've heard aside from the Misfits. Seemed a bit samey at first but after a few spins I was hooked, brilliant melodies and seriously good vocals.rA must for anyone who likes any genre of music with 'Horror' in the title.

This album makes me wish I was female then Damien Rice would maybe fall in love with me and write beautiful love songs for me. As it stands I think my beard my put him off.

This is my fav Gama Bomb album since Citizen Brain. There seems to be a larger dash of Priest style NWOBHM on this album which I appreciate immensely. Bring out the monster and give me leather sound like they could be Painkiller era Priest and I love it.

I disagree with people saying it lacks the spark of the earlier albums. Like the others I feel the album is a grower, it is filled with great hooks but they do not immediately plant themselves in your brain, it takes a few listens to really get them. However, this is why the album doesn't tire itself out quickly like similar bands' albums. Another great collection of well written, catchy songs from a very cool band.

Could never listen to the original due to the diabolical production quality and s*** vocals (imo), the re-recording makes this is a very powerful modern thrash album, just how I like it.

Fall Out Boy From Under the Cork Tree
Fall Out Boy So Much (For) Stardust

Versatile band with a wide range of musical influences. The album consistently surprises, skipping from Seargeant Peppers-esque jaunty pop, to Hives-like garage rock, to giant classic rock riffs from track to track. Great stuff.

Superb album. Exactly what you'd expect from an album written by Squire and sung by Gallagher. Beautiful melodies, lots of great riffing and soloing. It does just sound like a Stone Roses album with Liam Gallagher on the mic. If, like me, you think that sounds awesome then you'll like it.

Steel Panther Heavy Metal Rules
I disagree with the general consensus. I think this is a great improvement over Lower the Bar. They are definitely running out of ideas in terms of lyrics, there's no genuine belly laughs to be found here like in some older classics (Gangbang at the old folks home/Fat girl etc), but it's still amusing to hear Starr sing horribly puerile lyrics with such skill and conviction. At the end of the day they can write a damn fine tune any day of the week, but really where else are they gonna go now? If they weren't a comedy band they could explore other types of music but they can't really do that cause they've pigeon-holed themselves with the whole concept of the band. I'd love to see them reinvent themselves somehow but I can't see any way of them doing it.
System of a Down Hypnotize
The Cure Seventeen Seconds
The View Which Bitch?
The Wonder Years The Upsides

Way better album than the total steaming turd that was In Waves. It's getting a lot of hate, but I think it's almost as good as Shogun, an album which I really enjoyed.

Slipknot All Hope Is Gone
Steel Panther Lower the Bar
Symphony X The Divine Wings of Tragedy
The Cure Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

Megadeth Super Collider

2.0 poor
Misfits The Devil's Rain
Only's vocals are utter sh*t compared to Danzigs' epic wail and Graves' fun Danzig/Elvis impersonation...that combined with a lack of anything remotely hooky/memorable leads me to be one extremely dissapoointed Misfits fan!
