McCartney was at his top form as a vocalist & composer his contributions Elenor Rigby, Here There & Everywhere,(He also wrote Yellow Submarine for Ringo's vocal Spotlight) ,Good Day Sunshine, For No One, Got To get You Into My Life shows paul's abilty as a Songcraft genius, Lennon also shows His Musical heft with songs like I'm Only Sleeping , She Said She Said, Tomorrow never Knows Plus his throw away album Fillers Dr. Roberts , And Your Bird Can sing are songs Most band would be proud to call thier hit singles. Geprge steps out from The shadows with 3 songs Taxman is the Perfect album opener & it is the first pure PoliticaL STATEMENT MADE BY THE AT THE TIME STILL MOP TOPPED FAB fOUR, This album still sounds fresh 44 years later and unlike Sgt Peppers which I still believe gets too many Kudos for it's dated summer of love Hippie vibe. Revolver is Classic Beatles when 4 guys were at the top of Thier game & one can argue it was the last true Beatles album in the sense that when this al;bum was recorded they had not ceased touring, Brian Epstien was still alive & Paul had not over taken & overwhelmed the band with his concepts. (Sgt peppers, magical mystery tour, The White album, Side 2 Of Abbey Road & The Ill fated Get Back/Let it be sessions we all Pauls brianchilds But Revolver was an album recotrded by a Rock band at the top of thier game Firing on all cylinders and full of Power Influence & Unity One can almost imagine what could have been if the beatles had not started to splinter after this albums release. you can argue for Strawberry Fields/Penny lane but those are from the SGT peppers sessions & bythat time John haD CEASED BEING HEAD BEATLE HIS LSD USAGE & overall apathy enabled Paul to grasp control of the band & then the rot started to set in from that point on |
