The fact that most songs are 12"mixes or edit versions really decreases the quality of the double album. It was certainly done to allow people to quickly have an overview of what KMFDM can do. But the songs really are not in their most appealing form. Only one song from WWIII ? But anyway, there is still a lot of interesting shit on this.
Marilyn Manson Mechanical Animals
Marilyn Manson Eat Me, Drink Me
I'm sad that everytime Manson tries not to do what his fans expect from him, he is just totally rejected. I think this album is great. It has some bad moments but on the whole it is surprising, has a beautiful melancholy atmosphere and doesn't sound souless and totally commercial as Holywood could and the golden age of grotesque. If I was your Vampire, The Red Carpet Grave, Just a Car Crash Away, Evidence, Eat me drink me are really nice songs, you just need to accept that Manson doesn't want to be aggressiv.

Rabbit Junk This Life Is Where You Get Fucked
"The collection" is really a beautiful song. "Black", "Ghetto Blasphemer" and "The Collection" sounds a bit like a first part to "From the stars", "revenge of Julian Modely" and "The expedition".
Rabbit Junk Project Nonagon
Rabbit Junk Ghetto Blasphemer II - From the Stars
I always liked these three songs quite a lot, particularly The Revenge of Julian Modely. I thought they represented quite an ambitious piece of work although it might not be what we expect from Rabbit Junk. Thug Baby on the Invasion EP suffers from the quality of the writing of these three.
Rabbit Junk Consolidate
I agree. I like considering songs together as a whole. And Actually, although I've rated all the EPs 4/5, I'll give this a 4.5/5 because if someone buys it without knowing any EP beforehand, my god what a huge slap in the face !r

It's the Solvent cover on Weapon that made me listen to this. It's been growing on me since, from a 3.5 to a 4, to a 4.5 now. I don't know, I just think this album is really wonderful.
Skinny Puppy Too Dark Park
Skinny Puppy Weapon
I love it that the best songs are, for once, not the ones the album starts with. To me Wornin', Illisit are cool but a bit repetitive. Then, Salvo and Glowbel are good but nothing special. At that point, you're happy to hear skinny puppy but you're starting to feel a bit frustrated because you want them to be great not just good. And after these four songs the album becomes great.

It was just aimed at being more accessible, too soon. They should have released another heavy weight like Demanufacture and Obsolete before shifting to this. |

The album grew on me with this. It's still flawed, but it clicked. I'm not even sure I could tell the difference in the drums if forced to compare both versions, but it truly makes the songs more agreeable overall. I like it and I've got the feeling that really the Dino/Burton times were top notch.

Still, an album full of delightful things. If I had to recommand a song I'd say: Dystopia is the only average track in my opinion. All the other songs have something exciting to bring. | The songs are really good but there's only six of them (32min). Shell, Analgesia, Golgoth and Transceration are all interludes of some sort. |
PIG Prey & Obey
Introductory guitar riffs are a bit repetitive on Prey & Obey and The Revelation, everything else is awesome.
PIG Swine & Punishment
14 remixes for 5 songs necessarily ends up feeling a bit repetitive and frustrating because the songs that were left out were good too. Giving Saturated, Mercy Murder or Make Yourself Deny a remix would have been very great too. Even more so when the quality of those which are present here is so high.

Rabbit Junk Xenospheres
Great album.
But my god does Prismatic deserves to go into a gigantic conclusion at 2:50 instead of going back to verse/chorus. Something with long vocals like in The Collection or simply instrumental, it just feels terribly "cutshort" the way it is, like the song is moving to a different section and when it doesn't it's frustrating.
Anyway. |

Soulfly Archangel
Their best album since Dark Ages. We Sold our Soul to metal is a big joke but if you're old enough to press the skip button the rest is very good.
Soundtrack (Film) Sucker Punch
| Some beautifully ethereal and airy tracks. A bit limp at times but agreably punchy at others. On the whole an album which, if far from being perfect, has some really nice surprises to offer. | Twelve Foot Ninja Outlier |
I'm really not a Twelve Foot Ninja fan, so far I only liked Smoke Bomb and found myself incapable of listening to Silent Machine. I thought this album was incredibly dull. Strangely, Outlier flows a lot more easily for me. It's just TFN doing their Schtick/Gimmick. It grew old pretty quickly (It took one EP in my case) but it doesn't mean that the band is bad by any means or that it doesn't offer something different. And it's only their SECOND album after all. They still need to satiate their fans before attempting to evolve a bit. This will certainly happen with their third opus. Balads and progressive stuff.

Combichrist Making Monsters
I think it takes a little time to appreciate "making monsters" if you enjoyed "today we are all demons" a lot because the album isn't as good and also because the approach is different. So, at first it seems like the album is really not good at all which is not the case. rtracks I like particularly=>follow the trail of blood, throat full of glass, just like me, slave to machine, through these eyes of pain, reclamation.

Front Line Assembly Civilization
First four songs are great (inspired, good melodies, fast tempo, interesting samples), then an interlude, then it becomes more tedious, repetitive, slow, less inspired and a bit boring. It's not that it's bad, just that it's consistently not as good and interesting as the beginning and it makes it hard to feel like listening to the whole album.

Exactly what can be reproached KMFDM lately. Nothing exceptional, nothing epic, nothing truly fresh or inspired but still nothing to be ashamed of. |

There is something strange about this album. Although most nu-metal albums got me bored very quickly (I enjoyed Hybrid theory two weeks and never listened to it again), although I don't listen to any other Limp Bizkit album I don't grow tired of that one. I'm not saying it is a good album, it is just that I still enjoy listening to the songs I liked from the beginning. Maybe because I discovered Limp Bizkit with that one. I remember how astonished I was by the lyrics. It took me a certain time to be able to cope with their spirituality but slowly I became attached to them. I really had nice time being surprised by how pointless, clich?arrogant, whiny, and weak they could be (I'm french so it takes me more time to understand what's said, It often gives me a chance to appreciate albums with crappy lyrics, I know I am lucky). And well, the guitar's always the same but has nice parts. It is quite punchy.r

Marilyn Manson The Golden Age of Grotesque
Marilyn Manson The Pale Emperor
It's very unsettling to listen to Marilyn Manson in 2014. The guy went from very original and disturbing industrial "goth" rock/metal to simple classic sober rock. Although the music is an improvement over the high end of low and born villain, it is nearly not as impressive as it once were. And god ! Could someone tell him to stop fucking his rhyme/rhythmic/singing patterns just because he thinks it sounds cool to pretend he doesn't give a shit about anything=> "Slave only dreams to be king" 2m34s.
Marilyn Manson Heaven Upside Down
I was expecting this to be really bad and to reveal that The Pale Emperor was just a stroke of luck. But Heaven Upside Down is pretty good and contains everything good Manson can do, from posy aggressive hate to emotional corny love, from slightly industrial metal to punk rock poppy pop.

This sounds like an experimental album for Pig. Too slow and stripped down too often, quiet, rarely offering what you would want from a Pig album (imo), but there still is quite a lot of things to enjoy from a musical point of view.
PIG vs. Primitive Race Long in the Tooth
Long in the Tooth and its numerous remixes are great, Long live death is deprived of any remix when it actually is a great track, and a better one than the average Come for Deutchland (its remixes are nice though). Anyway, what's problematic to me is the f****ing price I paid for this. The price of an album and you end up with two awesome songs and some good remixes but, well, not enough content really. Yes, I was stupid to buy it in the first place. But well, Raymond Watts is still awesome and Long Live Death brings back KMFDM memories.

Mindless Self Indulgence's remix of Salvation is absolutely awesome, the rest is ok. Brainwashed (KMFDM mix) is fun.

Totem isn't weak but for some reason I just don't enjoy it as much as the last three. I hope the next one feels a bit more substantial.
Stabbing Westward Dead & Gone
I liked the last two The Dreaming albums very much. This is a small but worrying step back on all levels. Guitar work, drums, electronics, singing and even lyrics.

Smoke Bomb ! was really cool. This feels a bit boring at times. Yeah, they shift from one genre to the other without much difficulties and it makes the music somewhat diverse but not less boring. Honestly, the whole thing feels like a pose. It makes me think of Nickelback and I don't like it. Yes, hate me.
