I would like to know why this record received any low ratings. I understand that they have some of the worst guitar tones ever and some songs start out with horrible sounding guitars. Then the song kicks in and everything mixes incredible for an aural treat. The guitars are an acquired taste and can see how they get a knock there, but I love it as a guitar player and mixer. The bass is fuzzy and driving - outstanding rhythm section. Aww the vocals... this guy rips is cords loose with every syllable and beats the song into your head. I regret that I just discovered this record and hope these guys continue in some lineup. This will be on repeat for awhile.

I liked the shoegazer aspects of this album. Nothing revolutionary but a solid enjoyable album.

Swervedriver I Wasn't Born to Lose You
After over a decade of silence Swervedriver is back and better than ever. The reverb-drenched, swirling sound is intact and welcomed back. Not sure if is due to the lack of Swervedriver over the years or they are vastly improved - but this album is exactly where you want to be.

North Through Raven's Eyes
North have continued to shift from their post-rock beginnings to a more post-metal sound. This 7" shows their strengths in both genres. Old Blood shows their penchant for giving a musical journey for the end of the world. Silverfeather is the musical soundtrack to what is next - amazement and uncertain beauty to the next world. North and Locrian have provided excellent albums this year. Do not let this one get by your ears.
