This album's overall impact is average, however I rate it slightly higher because Adler does come into his element more than in the past with the faster songs, only to fill the rest with average regurgitations of past work. Guitar wise I appreciate the groove and less reliance on the open-note based rhythmical riffing, injecting some variety. And as opposed to what some have been saying I find Blythe to have developed wonderfully as a vocalist. He started as monotone scream, and now possesses some great range and different impact in his screaming.
Overall: Doesn't possess the impact it should've had, but showing signs of developing towards something great in the next album. hopefully. |
