| Right now it's between a 3.5 and a 4, but the fact that the band has expanded upon its melodic metalcore deserves some praise. This was a band that seemed heavily rooted in the "metalcore guilty pleasure" status with "Portraits", but this record finds the band adding a heap of melodeath influences a la new As I Lay Dying or older Still Remains. It won't show up on a lot of top 10 lists, but if you enjoy the genre, it may be one your most played list. |
